A few wee thoughts

Monday, June 22nd, 2015

I am very slack on the H&A watching these days, but I did catch it today. It was a good one.

It went like this:

Irene: Come back and see us soon, Spencer.
Spencer: I will, yeah.

Adios Spencer

Then Roo and the Doc busted Alf out of hospital (am unsure why he’s there) and they all went to some class of military memorial service.

And Alf unwisely got his feet very wet spreading ashes in the sea. I’d say the Doc is v. unimpressed.

Trouble ahoy

Monday, October 6th, 2014

Andy still owes his cash to the dealer. Casey asked Brax for help but got shot down. Casey gave Andy some cash from the gym to keep him going but will it be enough to keep Cody off his back and stop Josh from getting bashed again?

Maddy is having a great time jumping around on the beach and taking O-zone to the bone zone, far better than going to school. Roo sat her down and told her it wasn’t fair to use Oscar to get back at Josh and Evelyn, so she dumped him. Poor Oscar, back into the friend zone.

Sasha is having problems with her poetry. It turns out Matt is a poetic genius and submitted his poem with her name on it, unbeknownst to Sasha. She’ll get an A and then go mad when she finds out it is for his poem.  I reckon I could do better than Sasha’s effort.

Phoebe is a snitch while Maddy is a bitch
Sid misses his ditch and Cheryl is a witch
Brax says “Oi”, Harley’s a baby boy
When Andy shows his face, Hannah jumps for joy

Feel free to put your own poem in the comments.

Stay out of our marriage

Wednesday, October 1st, 2014

Casey felt sorry for Andy because he’s homeless and keeps making mistakes. He found him sleeping in the gym. He is going to lend money to him to get him off the hook with the drug dealers as he doesn’t want Josh getting bashed again, I reckon.

Denny and Casey had a romantic meal but had a bit of a row when he stood up for Andy Barrett while Denny thinks he’s nothing but trouble. Alf told her to talk to Casey and sort things out.

Leah is worried about Nate and told Sophie to stop leaning on him so heavily. Sophie pushed back and told her to mind her own business. That wasn’t enough though, she wants to move out and doesn’t feel happy living under the same roof as Leah. She seems to have Nate wrapped around her little finger. He went to the school and told her to mind her stay out of their marriage. Served.

Roo is still pressurising Marilyn over the wedding but they managed to sort it out and she asked Roo to be her bridesmaid. Hopefully that will be the end of the wedding hassling storyline for a while.

Brax and Ricky are going to try for a baby and got hot and steamy in the shower. Given the summer bay time warp, she’s probably pregnant by now and will be in labour by the end of the month.

Running out of second chances

Thursday, September 25th, 2014

Hannah is pretty slow on the uptake. She confronted Zac about the drugs at the farm and finally figured out that she was led up the garden path by Andy, he was to blame for the dope. Josh confronted his bro on the beach and gave him grief over his bashing. No doubt he’ll give him another chance, he always does. Maybe Hannah will give him another chance too, she usually does. Meanwhile Zac has moved out of the farm, he’s sick of Hannah and her ways.

Roo is trying to organise Marilyn’s wedding and going overboard. Poor Marilyn is getting stressed even though the wedding is months away. She even went to John to try and recruit his help, even though the two of them want a simple beach wedding.

Maddy and Spencer went for a game of pool while she tried to get in contact with Josh but there was no answer from him. Maddy has copped on that there is something up with her fella, that relationship won’t last too long in my opinion. She went to the farm to find him hanging out with Evelyn. She asked them what was happening between them but didn’t get any straight answers and stormed off.

Stewart-Barrett face-off

Thursday, September 18th, 2014

Too much madness in that episode:

  • Phoebe not confessing that all she is trying to do is get herself and Kyle a gaff
  • Roo not telling anyone why she went to South America and pretending it was because she needs her own space
  • Marilyn not wanting to move out of the caravan park and live with her fiancé and pretendy son
  • Hannah doing some weeding on the farm! Ok, that’s normal, which is what makes it weird
  • Kyle doing some amazing jaw-jutting aka the most Kyle face ever
  • Andy Barrett being scared by Alf

Avoiding the Braxtonverse

Wednesday, September 17th, 2014

Phoebe wants to get a flat for herself and Kyle. She arranged it by getting Matt to pretend to be a reference, she didn’t want to have to rely on a Brax reference. Then she met the landlord on the sly without telling Kyle. He put 2+2 together when he saw them and thinks something is going on. Things will get worse when he finds out that she robbed money from the till for the deposit.

Josh has realised his relationship with Maddy is going nowhere, he must be sick of the moaning, which will be twice as bad now she has to to repeat the year in school. He met her on the pier to give her the heave-ho but before he could get the words out she was telling him that she is going to change and she needs him. He’ll have to put up with her for now so.

Alf and Roo had World War 3 in the kitchen while John, Marilyn and Jett tried to stay out of the way. Alf wasn’t impressed with her going to South America without telling him but she still hasn’t explained why she went there. Mysterious.

Roo riddle

Wednesday, September 10th, 2014

Home and Away is like an episode of House at the moment; Roo picked up a virus somewhere on her travels, and it’s up to Alf and his merry bunch to find out why. According to Colleen, she left Vegas weeks ago. Our money is on a Martha-and-Hugo visit, maybe with some people smuggling thrown in, for good measure?

Darcy and Heath are on their best behaviour, ahead of his custody claim. But Sophie (dressed as a squaw) asked Heath for a meeting, to discuss school matters. What’s that about?

Ricky still wants a bub.

Spencer and Chris miraculously found Andy’s drugs, under his van. They should work for YCPD drugs squad.

Ozone

Monday, September 8th, 2014

There is great mickey-swinging going on down at the farm at the moment. Oscar (aka Ozone) was starting his community service with conflicting advice from Zac and Andy. Zac advocated keeping his head down, while Andy said Ozone should go in all guns blazing, so that no-one would mess with him. Guess who was right? Poor Oscar ended up like something out of True Blood, once the local hoons were finished with him.

In a related matter, apparently you can do community service topless in Australia.

Kyle and Phoebe are moving in together, and looking for a flat. They are very fussy. As a friend of ours might say, it’s not their forever house. Anyway, they remembered that Kyle being a former convict might prove tricky. No way, lads?

Roo has meningitis I hear. She’s been out of action for a good while now, should I ready the wall of death?

Alf cries; we all cry

Worried Alf

Worried Alf

Roo is still in Summer Bay General and her condition looks to be worsening. She had a seizure after Alf told her to wake up. Rebellious to the last.

Casey and Denny are a bona fide thing now, he even went to the farm for dinner. He also slept in his car as he wouldn’t be able to control himself if he went back for his displaced car keys. Eh what?

Chris is taking a duvet day as he’s finding Denny’s hasty new coupling a bit troubling.

Zac pretended he and Oscar were going on a pre-arranged camping trip, so he wouldn’t have to have dinner with Andy. I’d be inclined to do the same thing.

Eff you, doc

Monday, September 1st, 2014

Doctors are the most abused characters in Summer Bay. Any time someone’s in hospital, their relatives show up and slag off their medic’s professional skills until such time as the injured party miraculously recovers. Alf had a go at Dr. Accent today for being late for work. He was on call, but his phone was mysteriously on silent mode, something the good doc swore he never does. He’s blaming the ex-wife and no wonder, with her erstwhile unreliable druggy ways.

Roo is still unconscious, the victim of an as-yet-unnamed virus. Maddie is taking it hard, so Josh left her in the hospital to go off house riding with Evie. Unusually, this physical exertion didn’t end up with a topless youth in a hospital bed, but rather with an illicit smooch. What will Maddie say? Probably not too much, as she is leaning on Spencer for support and he is currently girlfriend-free. Handy.

Ricky wants a baby, and Brax doesn’t. He’s afraid the child will turn out to be a DOG like Danny, and Darryl himself apparently. Like all Brax decisions, this one is rooted in martyrdom.
