Tea bags and tofu

Monday, July 29th, 2013

“I don’t want to marry you” was how April greeted Dexter’s pending proposal. She loves him too much to get married apparently. What’s the rush anyway, is what Indi and Sid were asking him, sure they have loads of time before the need to settle down.

Indi wishes she hadn’t gotten married to Romeo so young. She says it put extra pressure on their relationship and cost them a year, when they broke up, and she’d do anything to have that time back again. He’s still alive and out there now, I wonder if he’ll make a reappearance before he snuffs it? Maybe he’ll come back as a ghost and haunt the beach, riding phantom waves every morning.

Marilyn is moving out of John’s after Roo and Harvs staged an intervention. They told her that she was getting too close to John, again. There is no reason for her to still be living there, given that his back is better now. She moved back into the Caravan Park so they had better stock up on tea bags and tofu.

Casey is on the jar because Tamara left him. He should head off to Sid’s ditch and drink himself into next week, or head to Angelo’s and drink five shots like Brax did when Charlie died.

The widow Walker

Monday, July 1st, 2013

Maddie is still down in the dumps because Spencer is no longer giving her his unconditional attention. She seems annoyed that he isn’t heart-broken over their latest break-up. She got upset on the beach and he gave her a hug, overseen by Zac. Zac thinks that she only booked a counselling session with Nat to get some notice from Spencer.

Marilyn was fretting over John and their conversations. She thought he had the hots for her but was afraid to say it to him. She sat him down and told him her fears but he said they were groundless, he is far from ready to move on from Gina, they’re just friends and Marilyn feels awful.

Indi is doing it tough. Sid advised her to let go of Romeo as he’s probably passed away by now. It might be time for her to take to her surf board again, something she found hard to do while her husband was still alive, as it was something they had done together. It’s going to be difficult for the young Walker widow, she’ll have to find a way move on, dipping her toe back in the surf could be the first step on that journey.

A moron and a martyr

Romeo is hastening his own death by quitting chemo. His reason for this suicidal course of action is because he’s trying to hide his condition from his wife and this will be harder to do if he’s suffering the effects of life-saving treatment. He’s worried what effect telling her the truth will have on her, making him losing his own life a small price to pay. He has a history of stupid moves, failing his HSE on purpose, but this takes the biscuit, or tim tam.

Dex is back working as a nurse in the hospital but isn’t allowed to deal with the patients so he’s stuck to mopping floors and the like. He doesn’t seem too enamoured with it all. April thinks their break-up is going very well and reckons it’s only a matter of time before they are re-united. She seemed so sure about it that it made me think fate, or the universe, has other ideas.

Heath went to see a counsellor, twice. He only walked out once, which wasn’t bad given his short fuse. Bianca managed him pretty well in this episode, she seems to spend most of her time dealing with the last Heath explosion, it’s like the grenade on his neck has a three minute fuse that keeps getting reset every time it goes off.

The grand opening

Tuesday, April 9th, 2013

The big day has finally arrived and the Summer Bay body and soul gym is open for business, big congratulations to Romeo, Indi and Sid. There was all manner of commotion with the power being out but Alf saved the day by bring over a backup generator. I look forward to many fitness related storylines from now on.

Kyle left Brax a note to say he’s hitting the road but then changed his mind and took the note with him. Tamara had told him that he’ll never be a Braxton, no matter how hard he tries, so he decided it was time to cut his losses and head off.

Jett was getting bullied by Tilda again. She even tried claiming that Jett bashed her but her made up bruise ran when she started crying. Gina was having none of it but has seen through the young pretender. Hopefully that’s the end of that storyline as it was ridiculous.

Job opportunity

Monday, January 21st, 2013

Liam and Leah, Summer Bay’s newest crime fighting duo, spent the episode piecing together the puzzle that is Adam and his son Jamie. With their knowledge combined, they figured out that Adam is wrong ‘un. Despite that, Liam insists that he’s going to do the job for Adam, to release Bianca from her drug hell. What kind of a job will it be? Spray graffiti on the diner? Rob the takings from the gelato bar? Give Adam and Jamie a Karaoke lesson, teaching them the words to his favourite duet, “kisses hurt so much”?

Dex and Lisa were doing some physio down the beach, which was going well until Dex started quizzing her about lying to Sid. Lisa avoided the question and told him to walk around the poles. Alas Dex lost the run of himself, literally, and sprained his ankle. Sid went ape and called over to Lisa’s intending to have it out with her but her husband answered the door, he doesn’t seem very friendly. Maybe Lisa is in an abusive relationship and she needs Sid to help her out of it?

Did anybody else notice Indi and Romeo’s costume change in the water? The ran onto the beach in their swim wear but came out of the water wearing wet suits. Good continuity lads.

Bush bashing

Thursday, November 29th, 2012

Well that wasn’t quite as exciting as yesterday’s episode but I have some questions after watching it.

  • Given the surf carnival was cancelled, what was Romeo training for?
  • Now that Rindi are back together, how long before they break up again?
  • Does Indi attend college anymore? What is she studying? Have all the lectures been cancelled as she’s always working in Angelo’s?
  • How long before Sid and Romeo go on a bender in the ditch, Sid with the bottle and Romeo with the ‘roids?
  • Who owns the house that Natalie and Casey were in? Did they just break and enter it?
  • Will Natalie go on the Braxton road trip? Not if she has any sense.
  • Is Alf totally loaded? He must be if he’s giving big cheques away.
  • Will Roo have a disgusting wedding dress given how terrible her dress sense is?
  • Is that the last we’ve seen of Kyle? Brax said he left him out in the bush but I suspect he’ll resurface at some stage.

Give me another chance

Thursday, September 6th, 2012

Ruby and Romeo had a beech side chat about things. They discussed this and that, failed relationship and non-existant pregnancies. She asked for another chance and Romeo said no. Not surprising really, when you’re girlfriend lies to you about something like that. Now that Romeo has cleared up that mess, the way is clear for an Rindi revival, or is it?

Enter the rockstar. Liam and Indi seem to be hitting it off recently. Let’s remember that he likes the younger ladies, see Belle and Nicole. I fear that a Rindi revival might be preempted by a Lindi liason.

Da Brax asked Marilyn out on a date and she said yes, which was pretty strange. Leah was as surprised as I was that she agreed to it. Anyway, poor Maz was just being used as an alibi so Da Brax could deny any involvement in Brax getting bashed. He got kidnapped outside Angelo’s and dumped in the bush. Maybe it’s time Darryl learns that you live by the bash, you could die by the bash.

Positive result?

What’s Ruby at? Not even pregnant at all, despite what she told Romeo. He’s not into a relationship with her let alone raising a child with the girl. She got pretty desperate when he was breaking up with her but resorted to desperate measures to keep hold of him. It worked short term but once she’s rumbled, she’ll be out on her ear. I suspect this will be a short-lived moving-in-together experiment.

Indi was a semi-innocent bystander to the whole affair. She had her hopes raised of a Romeo reconciliation but Ruby’s ruse ruined that rosy reality. She went home for a cry when she heard the “good news”. No Rindi reunion, for now.

Dex nearly, very nearly, got to fulfill his April dreams. She suggested a next-level session and they nearly got down to business. When Indi came in, April heard the crying and the passion was postponed. Poor Dex, will he ever get his wicked way?

Rindigo return?

Tuesday, June 26th, 2012

Bianca is in hospital feeling crook. Sid sais the baby is ok but she needs to take better care of herself. Heath is knocking about, trying to help but she’s not having a bar of him. Maybe the lady doth protest too much? They’ll be back together before long which will be enough to send “Spud” Murphy back on the gear.

Speaking of reconciliations, Romeo Smith, the sidelined surfer, is having thoughts and feelings about his estranged wife. Ruby is trying to get him interested in starting the surf shop business but he doesn’t seem pushed, he’s more into Indi by the looks of it. She too is thinking about him indoors, but is wary of slipping into old ways. I’m not a big fan of Ruby or Logan so I’d be quite happy to see Rindi reunited, even if it did mean them resurrecting the storylines where she nags him about a job while he goes surfing.

Harvey is off to jail if he’s not careful. He put his principles before his daughter and doesn’t want to be labeled a crook. But he had a change of heart at the last minute & changed his plea to guilty, following Morag’s advice. He got off with a fine, which pleased Roo & Lottie no end.

Laying down the law

Sunday, May 27th, 2012

Xavier must have got a maturity injection, because he is playing according to the Dr. Sid rulebook where Sasha is concerned. He sincerely apologised when they accidentally broke her curfew, and brought her straight home when she snuck out of the house. Xave reckons Sasha is still messed up over Stew, so he broke up with her. Cue Sasha meltdown.

Indi got upset when she saw Rindi frolicking in the surf, so naturally she ran straight to Logan. Romeo saw them and then he got upset. So the Walker-Smiths had a heart-to-heart, which kind of cleared the air.

John Palmer is thrilled with himself because he found out that Harvey rigged the election. Somehow i think this will backfire on Mr. JP…
