Nicole found the only fella in all of Australia who wouldn’t mind her being knocked up by a dead psycho; that’s pretty good going. Â The whole experience has reminded her that she’s so much more than a gestational carrier. Â Marilyn’s none too impressed though.

Brax set Angelo up by creating a fake drug deal. Â Angelo rang Charlie, who was on it quicker than lightning (why did they break up?). Â Now Brax knows where he stands with ex-Officer Risotto.

Angelo must be lacking in the restaurant management department. Â First he was taking money from Penn, now Brax. Has he ever turned a profit?

Dr. Sid assisted in Thabo heart operation. Â Come on, Sid, Rachel would have done that single-handedly and with her eyes closed.

Summer Bay’s most loved

Well, we asked and you answered. Â Unsurprisingly, the most popular person in the Bay is none other than everyone’s favourite galah, Mr. Alf Stewart.

There were some surprises though. Â For example, Aden and Belle made the top ten. Â I’d say it was on account of their ridiness. Â Belle in particular was a bit moany, no?

The no-voters were Brodie, Shelley, Rebecca, Jade, Max, Rachel, Hyde, Roxy, Saul.

The Bay is a richer community having lost Tony and Rachel. Having debated the issue for days, Tony finally agreed that he would go to America with his Mrs and they got a flight eight and a half minutes later.Â Amazing how fast things move in the bay.

At first, it seemed like Lucas would make an appearance to talk Tony around. But a storm struck meaning he couldn’t make it.Â Funny how nobody has mentioned him in years until yesterday.Â He was a pretty boring character too.

Both characters had promising starts but in recent times, both Rachel and Tony have become rather boring.Â I don’t remember they last time they weren’t arguing over boxing, John Palmer or something else boring and domestic.Â Now that they’re gone to America, the girls of the bay will have to look elsewhere for self defence lessons, maybe Alf will give classes on how to “knock a bloke’s block off”.

Oh my goodness, would Rachel and Tony ever EFF OFF?Â This saga has been going on for yonkers in Home and Away terms.Â Now Rachel has slyly invited Lucas home in the hopes that he’d convince Tony that in America, the streets are paved with gold.Â Tony rightly thought that Rachel was being a domineering wagon.Â Meanwhile the only thing that the audience cares about is – is Lucas going to be played by the same actor as previously?

Poor Romeo was scared to tell Indy he is a virgin.Â I personally can’t believe he never took it to the next level with Annie – NOT.

Dexter stood in for his da on a date with Marilyn.Â She wasn’t too impressed but then he was being a weirdo stalker.

Penn told Nicole a load of horse manure about his childhood and now they are friends again.Â We didn’t get to hear what his big secret was; no doubt it will be revealed in a shocking manner shortly.

So, Romeo and Indigo are an item. Romeo did a load of messing in that episode; I think he’s scared to take things to “the next level”. Did he ever reach that level with Annie? Surely not.

If you lived in Summer Bay, who would you ask for romantic advice? That’s right, Alf and Miles. Two bachelors who live together. Anyway Alf reassured Romeo that it’s ok to be romantic with your best friend. He even admitted Ailsa was his. Awwww. Even if she was a bit of a drip.

Rachel is trying to scare Tony into going to Boston; she left her flight confirmation lying about the house. Sly one Doc.

After a brief sabbatical, we’ve returned from holidays.Â It seems that the bay has been busy in our absence.Â From what I can gather, the main talking points of the last week are:

Ruby got hammered and threw herself at Liam before puking in his toilet. Despite that, he rejected her advances.
Bianca scrapped with Palmer and got herself and April kicked out. Never one to turn away a stray, Irene took them in on a whim.
Leah is a bit mopey because Elijah is gone. Maybe she needs to take up another martial art, that worked the last time she got depressed.
Angelo is working himself into the ground. In fairness to him, the new restaurant looks great. I’d love to call in for a plate of tapas or two.
Tony hit the roof because Rachel decided to go to America without his approval. He does have a point there.

Well, the last scene of that episode was fairly painful.Â Â Elijah nearly leapt for joy when he heard of a disaster overseas.Â His holy instincts are to go and help the needy, but what about Leah?Â Ah, sod her.

Dr. Shane Given came to town to tempt Rachel away to a life of doctoring in the US of A.Â Apparently Rachel switched specialties from psychology to surgery.Â A big leap, one might say.

Home and Away is returning into Chuckie Down Under.Â Mr. Oddley rose from the grave that Alf dug for him in the caravan park.Â Miles thinks someone is “having a lend of” him.Â That is one of my favourite phrases ever.

“Bon voyage you little mongrel” said Alf as he threw Mr. Oddley into Summer Bay’s deep waters.Â But the doll submerged through the magic of the washing machine, where Alf found him spinning.

Dr. Sid and Tony are best buds now because Sid stuck up for girl’s boxing in front of Rachel.Â Sid better watch out, she’s an annoying enemy to make.

Penn is robbing stuff from the caravan park and roundabouts and framing Colleen. What does he have against her?

Much ado about nothing

Mohamed Ali, Chris Eubank and Barry McGuigan are all getting a flight down under as they heard about the impending grudge match between Tony and John Palmer. Â It’s a no holds barred Â bitter bashathon. Â Somebody’s going down, way down. Â This is going to be brutal…

Only it wasn’t. Â In reality the fight consisted of two middle aged men prancing around the ring, trash talking but not actually fighting. Â Poor Coleen got bored being the referee, waiting for the fight to start and walked away. Â The two prospective pugilists pulled the plug and the whole collapsed into farce. Â Hopefully that’s the end of this storyline now and we can all move on with our lives. Â Rachel will be thrilled that there were no bashings.

Bay additions

Well, we ran a poll and it would seem that “the gays” would be the most welcome addition to Summer Bay.Â There have been a few gay characters in the past, but they never stick around too long.

The next most popular social group was complete families.Â They are very rare.Â Rachel, Tony and Harry seem to be the only one at the moment.Â Most households are made up of foster kids, various ex-derros and randomers coming in off the street.

In third position was vampires.Â A few months ago I would have scoffed at this but I suppose imaginary friends a la Rabbit isn’t that far off.Â I also suspect the V-man might have had something to do with the popularity of this choice.

Rabbit revealed

AT LAST Marilyn and Alf confronted Miles about his mad behaviour. Â He admitted to seeing Rabbit but denied she was a figment of his imagination. Â He reckons she’s real and is some class of ghost. Â He’s turned into a proper basket case now though. Â So the intrepid twosome called in some backup in the form of Rachel. Â She wants to medicate Miles but he’s having none of that.

I love these crazy storylines. Â At the beginning Miles was a solo madser, but then Marilyn dreamed of Rabbit and Byron, so maybe Rabbit is a ghost oooooh.

Alf, of course, is no stranger to hallucinations and visions. Â He advised Miles that it might be a brain tumour. Â Thanks Alf. Â Just because you turned into an Aborigine and then into your own sister on account of a dicky noggin, doesn’t mean Miles has. Â I hope Rabbit starts haunting other people too. Â Maybe she could attend Summer Bay High.

Wowee, did you hear Ruby and her amateur-psychology speak in that episode? Â She nearly sounded like she knew what she was talking about. Â She told Annie that Romeo needed to get in touch with his feminine side.

However, her follow-through wasn’t as good. Â The resulting plan consisted of Romeo wearing a dress to school. Â He looked well in it, all the same.

I was glad to see some good old-fashioned Home and Away humour there when Elijah discovered a face-masked Leah waxing her legs. Â Who leaves it till an hour before a date to wax their legs anyway?

Summer Bay Superpowers

Building on the bonza idea that Drew’s Shrew had about a cross-over Home and Away/Heroes show, commenter Sorry for being a crazy dingo has given us a deadly list of Home and Away character super-powers:

ALF: grows gills when he jumps in the water and swims underwater, like a fish which is kind of ironic.
COLLEEN: able to speak any language at will and talk to animals, that means she can gossip with anyone or anything.
MILES: the ability to eat food without ever getting full. (Sounds like a crappy superpower, but in later seasons he will discover he has a psychic conscience named Rabbit).
NICOLE: the ability to attract any person at will with her beauty.
JAI: the ability to be invincible.
IRENE: the ability to attract troubled children into her lair.
ANGELO: the ability to cause amnesia to others (everyone, including Martha, seems to have forgiven him for killing Jack and covering up the murder).
CHARLIE: the ability to change sexuality at will.
RUBY: the ability to screech so loud, it causes oneâ€™s ears to bleed.
GINA: the ability to convince people that sheâ€™s actually Tonyâ€™s sister and not his grandmother.
XAVIER: the same ability as Ruby.
MARTHA: the ability to never grieve and be constantly sexually promiscuous.
LIAM: the ability to be completely forgotten about only few months after being an Australian megastar.
ADEN: the same ability as Martha.
LEAH: the ability to be as sexy as Penelope Cruz but no-one in town appearing to notice.
RACHEL: the ability to heal, in all areas of medicine.
TONY: the ability of super strength.
ROMEO: the ability to surf REALLY REALLY WELL. (That one sucked).
MINK: the ability to stare at someone and kill them. What a bad ass!

Fitz pointed out that Rachel and Tony are rumoured to be leaving SB too!Â This is a disaster.Â Not only is Rachel a multi-disciplinary doctor and all-round magician, but she’s one of the only normal-sized ladies in town.Â She can be as annoying as a gnat at times, granted, but she adds variety to the Summer Bay lady-shape-landscape.Â And as for Tony, well, he’s just sound.Â Â But I suppose they are a happily-ish married couple and we all know how long they generally last in Home and Away.

Did you see the face on Charlie when Angelo was promoted above her?Â So disgusted.Â At least they discussed it and now it’s sorted (boss).

I never thought I’d say this, but Alf is being really annoying with his constant threats to leave the Bay.Â Just go, so.Â Himself and Angelo became great mates within the space of a day, downing tinnies in the Caravan Park of an evening.

Why did Geoff take advice from Martha, the walking disaster area?Â “Get saltwater into the wound”, she said.Â Geoff doesn’t get metaphors, so he ripped off his bandages and lepped into the sea.Â I wonder what Doctor Armstrong will have to say about that.Â Maybe it’s a radical new therapy they use in Summer Bay.

I don’t understand why Alf and Geoff are so traumatised.Â Fair enough with Leah as her fella got bashed in front of her very eyes.Â But all the two lads were doing was firefighting until the authorities arrived.Â Unless they still can’t believe that everyone else sat on the floor and left them to deal with the disaster.Â That’d leave a sour taste in my mouth, too.

The Least Craic in Summer Bay

Oh look, Rachel won out as the least craic in Summer Bay, with just over 100 of the 373 votes we received! Understandable really, as she fell to whiny, moany pieces once she had a baby.
Annie took second place, followed by Jai, Bartlett and Charlie. I’m surprised Kirsty wasn’t further up the poll (no pun intended).
Miles only got 2% of the vote, confirming what I’ve always suspected – YOU LOVE HIM!

What is Hugo at?

Martha is pining after BangBang/BumBum and Hugo is really pushing the “he needs to be with his own people” angle. What’s he at? Maybe HIS INDONESIAN WIFE who just showed up at his and Martha’s house can explain.

Gina is very annoyed with JPIII ever since he fired Romeo. That’ll cool his heels alright, but it’s nothing a surf and a drink won’t fix.

Geoff and Ruby have had their first tiff; he’s being over-protective and she is a big girl who can look after herself. Luckily Uncle Tony was on hand to dole out the only level-headed advice in all of Summer Bay to Geoff. Plus Rachel had a chat to Ruby. The Holden-Armstrongs should open a counselling centre. Dan who?

Welcome to Summer Bay

Summer Bay – popular with surfers, fishermen, rapists and psychopaths. Â Now that Ruby has met up with her dad, who raped Charlie, sure it’ll only be five minutes before he ends up in the bay. Â It’s a magnet for ne’er do wells. Â But maybe the sea air will have a calming and positive influence on him, causing him to mend his erroneous ways.

There have been previous reformed rapists who managed to be accepted in the bay. Â First there was Kane who raped Dani back in the day. He was eventually accepted by all, even Kirsty for some bizarre reason. Â In more recent times Henk made an appearance which shocked Rachel as he had raped her when they were younger. Â Cassie wasn’t too put off and went out with him despite his weird name.

The baby episode

That episode revolved around babies.Â Rachel’s wrecked because of hers, and Kirsty’s just annoyed that she’s pregnant in the first place.Â The S word was mentioned twice.Â Rachel wasn’t feeling very sexy (poor Tony’s having a hard time) and Kirsty told Leah she was tired because of all the supposed sex she was having behind Miles’ back.Â That told her.

There might be a new love interest for Leah in the form of Rachel’s widower dad mate, who she met at her mother’s group.Â The group seemed to be some kind of competitive showcase for child-rearing abilities.Â Fun.

Jai thought that the best way to woo Annie was to set up a website for her.Â Unfortunately, before he presented her with it, he spotted her wearing the face off Dexter.Â I wonder what he posted on www.anniesummerbay.com when he went home?
