Struth has alerted us to the fact that Roo, daughter of Alf and mother of Martha, is returning to Summer Bay. She will be played by a new actress; I love this madness. They did it with Irene, Hayley, Pippa, and who knows how many else.

Bad timing on Roo’s behalf though, her daughter’s just skipped town.

Gina fairly bulldozed through Mink’s tough defences when she called around for a chat. Gina’s been through the mill herself, you see, when her husband left her to raise her sons alone. And Gawd knows those three were a handful. So she knows a pretence when she sees one. Perhaps we should be calling her the new Pippa?

I see Pippa is waltzing around Summer Bay playing foster mother to everyone again. Only this time, most of the residents don’t know who she is. Certainly the likes of Annie, Geoff and Jai arrived long after she swanned off into the sunset.

Poor Roman – not only is he blind, but he’s suffering some kind of post-traumatic stress thing from being in the not-so-secret Special Forces. Plus, Miles is making jokes at his expense. Today’s was a winner – “you’re already blind, a couple of beers won’t hurt”.

Belle met a junkie rockstar in rehab. Maybe she’ll go on tour with him when they both get out.

Strewth, that flamin’ sheila wasted no time in getting her claws into Alf. I’d nearly be delighted except she’s just after his money. She seems to like money.

Alf acknowledged his legend status at the end of the episode by saying "If she can ask a bloke like me out, imagine what else she can do!", or something to that effect. A bloke like you indeed, Mr. Stewart.

Ah DOCS. I heard that acronym today and it brought me back to my childhood. Seems like DOCS were always calling in on Michael and Pippa, to check they weren’t bating lumps out of the childer. It’s real too, look .

What’s the skinny with Rachel and the young fella with cancer? Will she adopt him or what?

A few questions arose from today’s episode:

Why was Flynn doing an impression of the sacred heart with his holy light? I think that he was conspicuous by his absence. Maybe he’s not in heaven at all but was sent downstairs.
How is it that Tom has continued to age even though he died around 15 years ago? He told Sally to tell Pippa that he’d be waiting for her. I wonder what Michael thinks of that. It’s all going to kick off when she arrives with a meatloaf in one hand and a basket of laundry in the other.
Was Annie auditioning for Grease when she was playing pool in the surf club? Is she due to experience a crook and rebellious period like those of Jade, Matilda and Lucas?

The bay’s first derro made an appearance today, and if it wasn’t Milco himself. He was given a free meal down the diner and then he stalks Sally on the beech at just the time that she was telling Pippa about him. So he wasn’t a figment of her imagination after all. If you’re thinking that it doesn’t make sense, then you’re right.
