Haha Dex loves April and sees her as some kind of hair-tossing goddess. He was eyeing her up at Sasha’s 16th birthday party. Aww cute.

Sasha thought, now that she’s 16, she could take off to the Citee, and become a hairdresser, with Felix in tow. Sid put her straight. So she snuck out after dark.

Romeo and Indi are boring and possibly breaking up.

Brax’s intimidation of Steve got Ruby off the drug charge. So Morag’s off. I would like a Morag and Brax spin-off crimefighting show – “she’s above the law, he’s below it, together they are…”.

Good woman Ruby, she managed to concoct a reason for Morag to stay in town. Ms. Buckton was used as a drug mule by her good friend Steve. Steve is such a good mate that he told the cops Ruby was dealing on the surfing circuit. Sound man Steve.

Romeo told Brax, who was instantly hot on Steve’s tail. I foresee some bashing.

Harvey is getting to know his ex and daughter again. Following some heavy-handed hinting from Marilyn, he told an unimpressed Roo. Harvey is a simpleton.

Harvey’s daughter is sarky and annoying. Just like Harvey, then.

Indi told Romeo off because he chose Ruby over surfing. Then Romeo saw a text from Logan on Indi’s phone. Good. I hope that puts manners on him.

Sasha’s salvation

Sasha’s trial continued but the young lady need fear not, Morag’s on the case. She cross examined Watson, and got her to admit that she used to think that it was a case of accidental death, not murder but her bosses told her to upgrade the case to murder. What’s going on? The jury finds Sasha not guilty, but Stu’s dad swears revenge. Xavier threw her into the ocean to celebrate, he’s a simple kid. They declared their love for each other and all’s well in the bay.

Morag is my favourite character in the show by miles. I’d watch a courtroom drama programme based on her cases – “Justice by Bellingham”, it would be class.

Ruby is continuing her liaison with Steve the surfer dude, who smokes spliffs down the beach. Rube’s not that impressed and doesn’t dig stoners. I don’t see this relationship continuing long term, especially as she’s still holding a candle for Romeo. Steve is playing the decent bloke but slipped a massive package of grass into her baggage ahead of the flight. That’s going to be hard one to explain when they get caught.

Marilyn has a new client in her hairdressing salon. This woman has a teenage daughter called Lottie and an ex husband who is none other than Roo’s boyfriend Harvey. This could get awkward, especially as she asked Harvey to move out of his own house so she and her daughter can move in.

Sasha’s on trial. Morag’s her lawyer. Watson’s agin her. Sasha said Watson was nice to her down the station, but has now changed her tune. Xavier flinched at his mentor being slagged off.

April knows about Casey and Henri. Henri’s gonna quit teaching so the affair can continue. Casey was smiling like a simpleton when he heard.

So, when were you going to tell me you were leaving?

In grand oul Summer Bay tradition, Elijah tells Leah he’s leaving, on his leaving day. Like so many before him, (Geoff, Annie, and so on) the Rev is only dying to get out of town. He’s going to Another Parish. He had a hooley on the beach before he left, and cleared up any stray plotlines while he was at it. See ya later, Rev.

Leah told Brax a barefaced lie when she said she wasn’t interested in him. The truth will come out in the wash.

Liam went MENTILE at Eddie and smashed his guitar. All because Eddie nicked Liam’s lyrics. Fair enough, I thought. The bauld Eddie is denying all culpability, however. What’s that about? What is he playing at? Is he someone’s long-lost relative or something?

April caught Casey and Henri having a secret after-hours pash in Angelo’s. Knowing her capacity for keeping secrets, the whole Bay will know before long.

Sasha the Bashed Basha is going on trial “tomorrow”. This will be good. I hope Morag features heavily.

Surfie 4 life

Romeo finally stood up to Indi and said he’s gonna be a surfie 4 life. She looked disgusted. He didn’t tell her Ruby is going to the next comp. Apparently she’s happiest on a board. First I heard of it.

Speaking of Mrs. Smyth, when does she go to college? She’s always in the bleedin’ diner.

Roo blew off dinner with Harvey at the last minute as Sasha the Basha needed her. Harvey found some young Sheila to show off and make Roo jealous.

Sasha’s off to stay with Morag for a while, the lucky yoke. She even remembered she had a brother and asked if he could come too. They’ll probably make him live in the toilet though.

Poor Stu’s ma all the same. Not only is her husband a thick, her son is dead. Sick for her.

Morag is back in the bay, kicking ass and taking names. Episodes with Morag in them are always better. Hopefully the trial will take a while and she’ll stick around. I’m surprised that Robert Robertson didn’t appear to carry out the initial investigation.

I felt sorry for Watson, having to deal with Morag. She’ll have her work cut out there. Sash will be prime suspect in the trial and it’ll look like it’s going against her only for some vital evidence to come to light at the last minute, which will reveal her innocence.

What’s going to happen with Xavier in the cops academy? He might have thrown his chances of a police career away for the sake of coming home to checking on Sasha. Gina was freaked out and made him go to the cop shop and tell Watson that he’s being victimized in the Academy by Sergent Rafferty. She did Xav a favour and got onto Rafferty for him, who agreed to let Xavier back into cop school. I reckon that investigations and conviction rates will go up tenfold now that Charlie isn’t the boss, Watson will do a far better job.

Ex in the city

Ruby (-Casey) + Morag + the city = a barrel of laughs. She’s out on her own in the big smoke, well, almost on her own. She’s living with Morag in the city and living it up, doing her best to forget about Charlie and move on. Moving on included dumping Casey when he went to visit. She couldn’t even look at him, the poor cratur.

But one heart to heart from Morag and all that changed, she returned to the bay and moved back in with Leah. Morag reckons she needs to sort her head out before she moves on with her life.

Boozed up Brax is hitting rock bottom. He has been given the run around by the new criminal overlord Geoffrey and was made a fool of by trying to tip the cops off about his booze stash. For his next trick, he tried to burn down Angelo’s only for Leah to stop him at the last moment. She subsequently brought him home and watched him puke everywhere. Could have been worse I suppose, he could have chucked up on her like she did on Roman.

Charlie’s funeral went off without a hitch, well there was the small problem of her boyfriend not being there. Brax couldn’t make it as he was busy lashing into the old sea dog rum in Angelo’s. He did turn up to Leah’s later to go off at Ruby for turning off the life support machine. Ruby hit back by saying how Brax coming into Charlie’s life was the worst thing to ever happen to her. Ouch. She did have a point though, he cost Charlie a lot.

Morag turned up for the funeral and told Ruby how proud of her she was. Rubes is still heading to the city with Casey, wait scratch that, he’s not going now. He was disturbed by Brax’s diatribe and said he had to stay in the bay for his bro. Rubes is going to be flying solo in the city.

Sasha and Xav seem to be getting on well these days. I know she’s 15 but what age is he now, 18? I wonder what he’s going to do next? He had talked about going backpacking round the world for a year which would be cool but it’s hard to see what other careers might be open to him. Maybe he could turn evil and take over the boys who’ve lacked leadership since Brax took early retirement. Otherwise he’ll have to settle for a job in the surf club, Angelo’s or the bait shop.There aren’t many options for a young male school leaver in the bay.

Boo, Morag has gone. Maybe she was sick of listening to tales of the River Boys. If so, she should’ve stuck around because Brax is in trouble. I know this because he got hauled to the cop shop and Charlie made this face:

Charlie came to the rescue at the beach, calling an ambulance when Ruby couldn’t. Xavier went back to the hospital and is grand. As someone pointed out the last time he was in, young males in Summer Bay General are not allowed to wear tops. Anyway, Gina and John had to pass up a trip to Hawaii to keep an eye on the surfing champ.

Dex and Kate called it a day, and April copped on that Dex lurves her. Cue loadsa coy, meaningful glances.

Colleen is amazing. She reckons The Man Upstairs has it in for her, after the small electrocution, due to her gossiping ways. Elijah called over and she went mental. Brilliant. I especially like Morag as nursemaid.

Drugboat

In a very unsurprising turn of events, the River Boys were found with a load of dope on the boat. Unfortunately, Captain Romeo got dragged into it too. Morag was raging. She wanted to fire Romeo, but Roo came to his rescue, saying she’d be his mentor. Celebrity Apprentice Down Unda or what?

Marilyn misses George; she went over to Miles’ looking for his new address. Miles said no, due to her history of nicking sprogs. Anyway, Nicole rang shortly afterwards. Probably looking for tips on how to raise a baby.

Decisions, decisions

Whither now for young Casey? He stands at a crossroads and needs to choose a path. Option 1 involves him sticking it out at school and trying his best in the HSE, making a go of it with Ruby, then going on to be a productive member of society, maybe getting a job in the bait shop or the surf club. There aren’t that many options for adult males in the bay outside of YCPD, the hospital or the school. Option 2 would see him drop out and revert to River Boy mode. He could spend his days surfing, drinking, annoying staff in the diner/surf club and wrestling on the beach. No doubt he’ll choose option 2, wouldn’t we all?

Romeo is aiming for businessman of the year. He’s not getting enough business renting the blaxland as things stand. I fear he’s going to take Heath up on his offer of transporting the river boys and their contraband cargo. Foolish boy. Does he not know by now that the life of crime never pays in the bay? Miles and Roo won’t see him too far wrong, but he won’t be able to rely on Morag’s guidance as she’s off to the city. The bay won’t be the same without it’s biggest brain.

Ruby is in the clear, her sexual health is impeccable. So that means bould Emily infected Romeo. They should have dragged the STD storyline out for ages longer, it would have affected nearly everyone in the Bay.

In today’s episode, it was Charlie’s birthday. Morag has copped on about the Sergeant and Mr. Braxton, so it’ll be out in no time.

Dex went on a date with Summer. It didn’t work out as he only has eyes for April. Xavier likes the look of Summer though, maybe they’ll swap?

Oh deadly, Roo and Morag are on Captain Romeo’s junkie boat cruise. This is going to end very happily.

I still don’t know how Elijah got bashed. He’s massive. The hospital bed barely contains him. Relations between him and Leah seem to be on the mend.

Ah poor Grace. Â Thabo’s nurse dobbed her in to the authorities, then Morag wouldn’t perjure herself by defending her sham of a marriage.

So Grace is off home, leaving Elijah with her blessing to get his freak on with Leah. Very gracious of her (geddit?). She even told him that God hadn’t left him at all, at all. So he’ll be back in his ninja ministry within the week. All’s well that ends well.

Poor oul’ Rubes. Someone made an animation of her taking it to the next level in the backseat of a car. Bold. Meanwhile Romeo is getting off scott-free. Indy even wants to get back with him. I foresee a Buckton meltdown.

Elijah has lost his faith in the man upstairs. It doesn’t take much. Surely he’s seen plenty of suffering in his career as a minister? Anyway, between Morag, Miles and Leah, they’ll sort him out. Dunno why he slept with Grace though.

Morag is ruling the roost at Summer Bay caravan park. She’s telling Roo off, sympathising with Grace, and talking sense into Elijah. She fairly chews the scenery while she’s at it.

Miles woke up with Roo in his bed. She obviously likes the new slimline version. However, she says they didn’t take it to the next level. Dunno whether to believe her though. She does have “a reputation” as Justice Bellingham put it.
