Ooh, the writers of Home and Away are toying with our emotions, and no mistake. The Family Palmer were as happy as possible, and Jett was being as cute as possible, so of course something had to go wrong. Gina had some class of aneurysm. You know things are bad when you start seeing yourself as an apparition.

At least she remembered one of her other sons before disaster struck. I was half-expecting her to answer the phone with a “Xavier who?”. Poor Bandicoot and Hugo don’t get a look in.

Marilyn foresaw it all, of course. She’ll be feeling mega-guilty for days now.

Dex felt bad for taking it to the next level in the hospital. He’s obviously never seen Grey’s Anatomy. April, spurred on by the positive-thinking-vibes of her recent girls’ night, confronted him and wished him luck in the future. He just looked confused.

Marilyn walked in on Maddy and Spencer as things were getting hot and heavy. They discussed taking things to the next level in his van but were interrupted. Roo and Harvey had to deal with the fall out and decided to sit them down for the talk. Now Spencer doesn’t think he’s ready while Maddy was trying to pounce on him down the beach. Young love eh?

Dex is feeling much better these days, remembering everything. April on the other hand is having problems dealing with the stress and anxiety of Uni and is reverting to her OCD ways. Sid saw her behaviour and is concerned. She lost the plot when trying to deal with her timetable and came back to the diner in tears. Are college timetables that difficult to follow, especially for somebody who got into medicine?

Nat and Zack had a tête-à-tête in the diner after he had confronted Brax on the beach. Zack asked the River boss to stay away from Nat; he replied that it was Nat who needed to be told to steer clear of him. Liam met Nat on the beach for a chat, wearing full biker gear while she was wearing minuscule gym gear. Does Liam have reptilian blood?

By the way it seems that we got it wrong on Liam, he didn’t leave the Bay after all. He met Romeo on the clifftop last Friday and the kid put Liam’s problems into perspective by revealing his terminal cancer. Hopefully that will snap Liam out of his recent funk. He’ll have to find a job somewhere, not many options open to him in the Bay now.

Sid is off getting his head sorted. Indi is grand with him having his own time, but Dex was too curious about his well-being. He went looking for his Dad and tracked him down, can’t see Sid being too happy about his family finding out about his breakdown.

Romeo had a chat with John Palmer and got a brain-wave when discussing the gym. What’s happened to the old Summer Bay Super Bods? Nobody is leasing it at the moment so Romeo and Indi are going to take it over. Will they do as good a job as Jesse and Hayley did when it first opened? Tony and John also had a go at running it . I back Romeo to get it going, it’s a perfect job for somebody like him, plus he’ll have Indi’s business acumen at his disposal.

Alf and Celia are still a-bluing. Marilyn decided to mediate in the scrap and get the siblings back on speaking terms. Alf said he is sick of his little sister’s lies. He should ask her to stick her tongue out to see if it’s black.

Celia is back in the Bay to stay; she was conned by some handsome divil and has nowhere else to go. So, she got a job down the diner, where she promptly irritated Irene to the point where she nearly said “Gawd save Ireland”. Marilyn was supposed to give Celia the boot, but couldn’t bring herself to do it.

Spencer had a chat to Roo and told her his and Maddie’s parents are brown bread. So they’ll be hanging around the Bay, sleeping in boats and such. Are they really brother and sister, or is it a Shannon and Curtis situation? Either way, Roo wants to adopt them, so they’ll be enrolling in SBH any second.

Jett is back on the Veej-hunt. He tackled Liam about it, and Liam roared at him. Then Indi consoled him. Now Jett 4 Indi 4 eva.

It’s been a while but out of the night sprang two teen runaways. They turned up at the caravan park with a vague story and some hungry bellies. They got a van on the never-never, scammed a breakfast from Marilyn in the diner and then dined and dashed in Angelo’s. That’s pretty much every business in the bay covered, a veritable crime wave.

Casey is perplexed. Tamara is forcing him to make a decision. She wants him to figure out if he wants to be with her, he reckons he needs to sort out where his life is going first. He flipped it back on her and said she needs to sort out her family situation with her brother first. So he gave her money and a kiss and sent her off on her way. All the girls love a bad boy come good.

Dex is also facing life changing decisions. He’s having to face up to a life on medication and is finding it hard to take. April is hoping he’ll stop feeling sorry for himself and get his college life back on track. She laid down the law with him and he took her advice. Less wallowing, more progress.

We watched two episodes in a row there. Two DEADLY episodes.

Creepy Jamie sent Leah a picture of herself sleeping; she went nuts so Liam got the Guards. The worst cop of all time showed up to investigate. He basically told Leah he didn’t believe her, and it was her own fault for sleeping with Jamie. Come back Jack, all is forgiven.

So, Leah and Veej shipped out, they’re going on an extended holiday. It seems if your soap-ma gets pregnant, it means no wages for you while she’s on maternity leave. No wonder Veej wants to stay in the Bay with his mates.

Casey’s trial is in full swing. He had a panic attack at the start, but Kyle and Tamara saved the day by sticking up for him. Kyle obvs wants to be one of The Boize.

However, things took a nosedive when Nosey Nat took the stand. She revealed Casey’s anger management problems, so now his chances of freedom look slim.

The prosecution missed a trick not getting Angry Teacher to take the stand.

Lisa’s husband is looking for her; he’s locked Indi in Angelo’s. There are too many creepy weirdos in the Bay at the moment.

Marilyn is dying to be Roo’s maid of honour, while Harvey has no mates to be groomsmen. He’ll probably ask his sworn enemy, Romeo.

Aha, Adam and Jamie are father and son. They’re in the Bay to do a job. Leah very obviously overheard them saying so in the Surf Club, but strangely, they didn’t spot her crouching right beside them on the stairs.

Leah is raging because Jamie took Veej out on a jet-ski. What’s the buzz there I wonder?

Marilyn went on two dates, and her hair was amazing! The first fella was a no-go, but the second chap was into tarot, and even has a new-age bookshop in Yabbie Creek. Perfect! Mr. JP was hanging about, and quizzing the suitor, so Marilyn gave him a right telling off. She’s like a new woman with that new hair.

Adam has roped Liam into helping him with the “job”; if he does, Adam will leave Bianca alone. Yeah, right, Murphy!

The party really kicked off in Angelo’s. All the stops were pulled out, Harvey was spinning the discs and Liam played a few tunes, while managing a restaurant.  The dress code was casual and the champagne was flowing.  Leah, Natalie and Marilyn had a few glasses before Marilyn gave a speech saying how much she loves living in the Bay.  Then she managed to set Leah up for a pash with a guy they were perving on, good work Miss Chambers.

Everybody was enjoying themselves except for Heath and Bianca.  The two of them are still hurting, understandably so.  Bianca is sick of the pain and wants to forget it all, so drugs are the only solution.  Sid and Heath refused to help so she asked Adam, Brax’s mate, to sort her with some hard stuff. Why did she bother with that?  She should have got a bottle of whiskey and asked Sid to show her where his ditch is.

Poor Baby Rocco; he didn’t even live long enough to get his first tattoo. His parents are understandably shaken up; I predict a breakup and a return to bad-boy form for Heath.

Brax decided not to tell Casey about Rocco’s demise. He reckons Casey has plenty on his plate, he’s in hospital and the police want to arrest him for breaking bail. An unidentified cop (where’s Watson?) was very skeptical of Brax’s tale of kidnap and rescue. Natalie soon corroborated his story though. That was her last act of girlfriendliness, however, as she broke it off with Brax. Her reasons were that she didn’t want to deal with all the shootings, kidnappings, and general life in the Braxton clan. If only Charlie had been so sensible.

Gina is up in arms against Marilyn, for seducing John. The only thing is that Marilyn didn’t do it. She can’t help it if her bouffant hair and friendly ways attract the menfolk. Roo put Gina straight so hopefully she and Marilyn can be friends again.

As Alf pointed out, John has a lot to answer for when he returns to the Bay.

Ma Braxton was full of great advice for new parents Bianca and Heath.

• Dip Rocco’s dummy in whiskey to get him to calm down
• Hit him on the back of the head if he talks back
• Dress him in polyester

She reckons that these parenting techniques never did her boys any harm. Looking at Heath, I don’t know if I can agree.

Poor Marilyn is caught in the middle of the John and Gina issue. She is an innocent party but feels guilty because John tried to kiss her. Which would be ok but Jett over heard Marilyn telling Roo about it in the diner.

Dr. Sid had lunch with Lisa, Dex’s therapist. New love interest? It’s been a while since he’s been out with a lady. He deserves some joy in his life given all he’s been through with Dex.
