What happened to Sasha and Stew? She was professing her love for him to Indy and saying how well things are going. She did have the sense to tell him that she’s not ready to “take it to the next level”, which was sensible. That sense deserted her when it came to dressing up for her date with Stew, she looked somewhat ridiculous, which goes to prove that she is a Walker, taking after Indy. So she went out for a ride in Stew’s awesome green machine and he gave her abuse for not texting him back. But the verbals weren’t enough and he slapped her in the face! I hope she sees sense and kicks him to the kerb. No doubt she’ll forgive him, tell herself he’s changed, until he does it again.

Were there any other violent relationships recently? I was casting my mind back to see if I could remember them. Did Kane hit Kirsty at some stage? Maybe I’m slandering him incorrectly. I’ve a feeling we’ve had this storyline before, “what’s new with that” I hear you say.

April is a right little addict these days. Robbing prescription papers from Sid, where will it end? Did she get the wrong tablets for Irene? That didn’t seem clear. Irene seemed very pepped up once she took what April gave her. Irene’s going to end up addicted to pro plus and caffeine tablets.

So, Miles told Leah ’twas him who helped Veej write to Elijah.Â Leah went mental, then calmed down and called around to the caravan park with a confession.Â She’s been writing to Elijah every day since he left.Â Where in the name of God did she get the time to do that?Â No wonder she’s so flustered.

All this talk of Elijah makes me think he might be coming back.Â Normally when someone leaves the Bay, they’re never/rarely heard of again.Â For example, Dani, Jade, Kirsty, Cassie, Rhys, Shelly, Tasha, Geoff, Robbie, and the list goes on.

In another unusual H&A move, no-one has found out about Hugo’s money.Â Well, Charlie knows, but it’s not public knowledge.Â What’s that about?Â Anyway well done to the writers for not following their usual path!

Good one by Liam there; telling Nicole he loves her will keep her around for another wee while.Â Â Wow, he was so busy in that episode, between his supposed “lessons” and sitting on the couch doing nothing.

Miles is off the hook with the cops but went mental when he saw a picture of Kirsty in the school yearbook.Â In fairness, I’d go mental if I had to look at a picture of that moany cow.Â Anyway Gina is making him take stress leave.Â He’s annoyed by this but I think he should take the opportunity and spend a few days down the Diner eating burgers.Â He’s wasting away.

Miles Copeland hasn’t had it easy since he moved to Summer Bay.Â As a down-and-out, he slept on the beach and wrote cryptic messages in the sand in the hopes that his sister would find him.Â Naturally, he went from living hand-to-mouth to becoming a teacher at the only school in town, and won the heart of Kirsty Sutherland.Â Unfortunately she turned out to be a total wagon.

These days Miles spends his time getting bashed and threatening children.Â It looks like Riley’s dad is behind it all.Â I hope the YCPD can crack this case.Â If not maybe they should bring Robert Robertson back.Â Maybe they should just do that anyway.

So, the teenage(-ish) couples of Summer Bay are all talking about sex.Â Ruby and Geoff decided they’ll have a go, while in a startling move, Nicole is standing her ground with Liam and refusing him access.Â Is that because she’s changed her tune, or because she has her wee eye on Aden?Â Ooooh, mucho mysterioso.

Now, where are Martha and Hugo and Suzy and Bungbung?

Given that we’ve no new episodes to discuss this week, I thought it was time to delve into the archives again and examine another character from the Bay’s glorious history.

If Rhys had anÂ anger meter it would go up to 11, and rarely drop below 10. Â He moved to the bay with his wife Shelly and his family many years ago. Â They took over the caravan park. Â Rhys looked a bit like a fish and was a pretty wooden character. Â I could never figure out why Shelly went out with him.

Rhys and Shelly had 3 daughters: the “twins” Kirsty & Jade and Dani. Â Dani was a bit of a moany hole. Â She went out with Will Smyth until she realised that he wasn’t the Hollywood star of Independence Day and Men in Black. Â She then went out with Josh West who was a tool. Then she was raped by Kane Phillips. Back in those days, they used to say “attack” rather than “rape”.Â Kirsty found this irresistible and eloped with her sister’s rapist. Â All of this drove Rhys off the edge and he had a rage stroke.

Shelly left him to nobody’s great surprise. Â But he soon ended up with Beth Hunter, to everyone’s surprise. Â She was a living saint and was a good influence on the raging Rhys. Â She told him to keep his temper in check or he’d be kicked to the curb. Â Alas her wholesome ways weren’t enough for dumb ass Rhys and he left Beth once home wrecker Shelly appeared back on the scene. Â I don’t think too many tears were shed in the bay the day he left. Â Thankfully, he’s never come back.

The Least Craic in Summer Bay

Oh look, Rachel won out as the least craic in Summer Bay, with just over 100 of the 373 votes we received! Understandable really, as she fell to whiny, moany pieces once she had a baby.
Annie took second place, followed by Jai, Bartlett and Charlie. I’m surprised Kirsty wasn’t further up the poll (no pun intended).
Miles only got 2% of the vote, confirming what I’ve always suspected – YOU LOVE HIM!

Also, why didn’t Nicole set the alarm herself.Â Liam is hardly the most trustworthy.

At least Leah didn’t make Kirsty sick.Â The diner would have gone to rack and ruin if she had.

So Clint Eastwood is back on the scene, complete with son.Â He got arrested but managed to escape due to the ineptitude of the YCPD.Â He ran off to find the son, but instead bumped into the creepy weirdo from the island who Nicole and Geoff met a few months back.Â Turns out creepy weirdo speaks good Indonesian.Â Handy one.

Kirsty and Miles are in a bad way.Â Jai doesn’t know whether to eff off to Japan or not.Â So he told Annie she could go.

I still can’t believe Martha is running for office.Â That’ll be some laugh.Â It’ll be regulation miniskirts and knee-high boots in Summer Bay if she has her way.

The reveal

OK, does Geoff only have one white vest?Â And when it’s in the wash, has he no choice but to walk around topless?

Xavier is wise to Geoff and Ruby.Â He warned Geoff off and after looking mega-confused for a while, Geoff agreed to leave Ruby alone.
Ruby’s not impressed though.

Nicole is going to the next level with Liam Murphy the rock star.Â This is a disaster in Kirsty’s eyes.Â I’d say Kirsty is jealous.Â Maybe she just wants a roll on the beach herself.

Charlie’s police radio went off in the diner – AT FULL BLAST.Â I’m surprised all the customers didn’t follow her to the police emergency.

Angelo, under slight duress, spilled the beans about his undercover operation.Â People-smuggling!Â Exotic!Â He thinks it’s Hugo running the show, but I bet it’s not.Â Who could it be?Â Palmer?Â Morag?Â Colleen?Â The excitement!

Ah jaysus, after all the cribbing from Kirsty about how she doesn’t want the baby she’s expecting, she has a chat to Ollie and everything’s grand.Â Don’t know why they bothered with that storyline.Â At least she’s stopped her whinging.

In a mad move, Liam Murphy has moved to the Bay.Â He’ll have to get rid of all his money if he wants to stick around.Â The rich don’t last long in Summer Bay.Â But I suppose the city is always just up the road.

Looks like Aden and Nicole are best mates – what’s the next level again?

Sink it and die Austin

Ah, so Ruby Leeds is trying to steal Brendan away to a community house.Â Sure what harm, you might think.Â But Mammy Austin instinctively returned to the Bay just in time to stop Hugo shipping his brother off.Â She wants to keep Brendan all to herself.Â I’d say Ruby will convince her to set him free, though.

Geoff saw Ruby in the nip.Â He’s well into her.Â He’ll probably have visions of her now, just like Miles did when he first encountered Kirsty’s knickers.Â On a related note, the Aden and Geoff scenes are keeping the comedy scores up at the moment.

Hugo got a death threat.Â It was just like in the movies, with cut-out letters and everything.Â Spooky.Â Was it Trey’s da?Â Where’s Trey again?Â Did he go to jail?

Doing it tough

“Doing it tough” is the current phrase du jour in Summer Bay, and with good reason.

Aden’s still doing it tough due to Belle’s death.Â Surprisingly he didn’t get over it in a week.Â I think the Summer Bay time warp is weakening.
Sid is doing it tough trying to ward off Nicole.
Charlie’s doing it tough trying to nail Grant for every rape in Oz.
Jai is doing it tough because he can’t get his hands on Annie.
Ruby’s doing it tough because she can’t decide between Xavier and Geoff.
Widower dude’s doing it tough because he has a baby and no wife to help with the childrearing.Â Rachel or Leah will sort that out for him.
Hugo and Confused Martha are doing it tough because the authorities don’t like their shipwreck idea.
Kirsty and Miles are doing it tough because they’re having a babog and only one of them is bothered with it.

Brendan is the only one having any craic; I wonder what Ruby II was wearing when he was talking to her?

Welcome to Summer Bay

Summer Bay – popular with surfers, fishermen, rapists and psychopaths. Â Now that Ruby has met up with her dad, who raped Charlie, sure it’ll only be five minutes before he ends up in the bay. Â It’s a magnet for ne’er do wells. Â But maybe the sea air will have a calming and positive influence on him, causing him to mend his erroneous ways.

There have been previous reformed rapists who managed to be accepted in the bay. Â First there was Kane who raped Dani back in the day. He was eventually accepted by all, even Kirsty for some bizarre reason. Â In more recent times Henk made an appearance which shocked Rachel as he had raped her when they were younger. Â Cassie wasn’t too put off and went out with him despite his weird name.

The baby episode

That episode revolved around babies.Â Rachel’s wrecked because of hers, and Kirsty’s just annoyed that she’s pregnant in the first place.Â The S word was mentioned twice.Â Rachel wasn’t feeling very sexy (poor Tony’s having a hard time) and Kirsty told Leah she was tired because of all the supposed sex she was having behind Miles’ back.Â That told her.

There might be a new love interest for Leah in the form of Rachel’s widower dad mate, who she met at her mother’s group.Â The group seemed to be some kind of competitive showcase for child-rearing abilities.Â Fun.

Jai thought that the best way to woo Annie was to set up a website for her.Â Unfortunately, before he presented her with it, he spotted her wearing the face off Dexter.Â I wonder what he posted on www.anniesummerbay.com when he went home?

There may be trouble ahead

Is anybody else a bit sick of Kirsty and Miles? They are forever getting the wrong end of the stick and rowing over it. I don’t think the fact that Kirsti is a bit thick and very paranoid is helping. Â He thought it was an affair but in reality it was a bun, in the oven!

Now that she’s pregnant, we can expect lots of drama. She isn’t ready to have more children and they’ll get in the way of her Uni course. Miles is mad for kids so I sense a bit of conflict ahead.

If Leah ever gets sick of running the Diner, she could consider a career in espionage, such are her skills in subterfuge and lying. Â Australia’s got talent.

“I don’t want to be Wowser about it” was what Miles had to say when doubting Kirsty’s ability to balance Uni and home life. What the hell is a Wowser?

Poor Morag got battered again. Ross accidentally smacked her in the face but sure it was as bad as the time Alf/Ailsa threw her down the stairs, which you can see here. Â Ailsa got way meaner when she came back from the dead as Alf’s imaginary friend.

Poor Charlie, she’s had a rough trot of it. Maybe that’s why she doesn’t/can’t show emotion AT ALL; she’s afraid it’ll all coming pouring out if she does. She confessed (nearly) all to Angelo and now he’s happy enough to be her boyfriend again. He’s mad for an honest woman, that fella.

Kirsty invited her uni mates over for a piss-up/study session. Miles was eating when they arrived and told them he went to one lecture while at uni. Rebel He soon blew his cool facade, though, when he kicked them out for being rowdy.

Morag is adamant she’s staying in the Bay for a while. You’d think she’d run it past Leah seeing as all the Bucktons now live chez Baker-Patterson.

Jane is after Rachel’s babog; she reckons Rachel is too crap a ma to handle Harry. She could be right there.

Hand-y

Well, it’s all happening since VJ and Miles found the hand on the beach.Â Charlie’s been kicked off the case, Angelo is heading up the new task force, and Hugo has gone out diving – alone.

My bet is that Hugo is some kind of Dexter-type character, serial-killing and throwing the bodies off the boat.Â Except this isn’t LA, and he’s not Dexter.Â He lives with dopey Martha, and she’s bound to trip him up.Â Although it has been confirmed that Madge Wilkin’s nephew was right, the hand was chewed out by Jaws II, so that’s that theory out the window.

Speaking of whom, Martha was walking around in her underwear, causing Hugo to scarper out to sea in the first place.Â The menfolk of Summer Bay don’t seem to be able to differentiate between bikinis and lingerie.Â Remember when Miles saw Kirsty in her knickers?Â It almost drove him mad with lust.

Nicole has turned her affections towards Trey.Â Boring.Â Trey’s dad seems to be mates with Alf, he’s setting up a Surf Carnival and promoting local business.Â He even has a Summer Bay uniform of some kind.
