Ow, me knee

Wednesday, November 7th, 2012

There are romantic disasters a-plenty in Summer Bay at the moment.

Harvey went to his ex’s house after he misunderstood the state of his relationship with Roo. Handily, Lottie was at some camp or other. Harvey’s ex seemed to have undergone a personality transplant; she was very giggly and quite nice. Of course, Harvey couldn’t resist the allure of her mild hospitality, and they ended up kissing.

Meanwhile, a despondent Roo was phoning him over and over. What a bleedin’ mess.

The high point of this episode was an amazing montage in which Romeo dashed into the surf, out of the surf, carried a surfboard, and just started sprinting. Unfortunately, the montage ended in a sickening crunch, which meant he’d only gone and done his knee in again. Dr. Sid was none too impressed.

While sitting injured in the Diner, Romeo ran into Indi, who announced that she and Liam were no more. Despite his gammy knee, Romeo got on his high horse and told Indi he couldn’t support her in her break-up, when she’d given up on their marriage so easily. Eh, hello Romeo? What about living and having a pretendy-baby with Ruby?

Back at the gaff, Romeo started quizzing Marilyn on alternative therapies for his knee. When she couldn’t help him, he went online and started researching steroids. Uh-oh! (Bet Heath could get him some)

Half-cocked Harvey

Tuesday, November 6th, 2012

What’s a girl to Roo? Sure she’s beating the fellas off with a stick. Tim is still hanging around, driving Harvey insane with the jealousy. He went so far as to burst into the diner and ask Roo to get married to him there and then. She agreed at first but then she heard the small print – Harvey wanted her to tell Tim to stick his job. Roo refused, and tracked Tim down for another beachside briefing. She made her mind up to stick with her fiance and said goodbye to Tim with a hug. Harvey saw this and interpreted it as something more which lead him to move out of the house. Why didn’t he wait and talk to Roo first? Half-cocked Harvey.

Is Liam a bit jealous? Indi brushed off his date plan in favour of going for a surf with Romeo. Liam didn’t seem that impressed when he found out and suggested they break up. Is there a chance, yet another chance, for a Rinidi re-union?

Marilyn was pretty hungover and didn’t go to work. Luckily Leah was able to manage the diner on her own, taking the salad out of the freezer and making the odd cappuccino. How does that business support so many staff, it never seems that busy despite how stressed Leah acts.

Drunk Marilyn

Monday, November 5th, 2012

Marilyn and John Palmer went on the rip. He returned home to make it up with Gina, who knew just how to put manners on him.

Marilyn, however, stumbled home and across Harvey, who was sleeping on the couch. I love drunk Marilyn, she’s amazing. Please, please, Home and Away writers, do a spin-off called The Drunk Marilyn Show. Thanks.

Another high point in that episode was Alf and Romeo ignoring the Roo-Harvey shouting match and getting stuck into their pizzas. Proper order.

Heath thought it would be sound if a few of The Boise knocked around to Irene’s with a crate of beer. He is a cretin. That’s why he suits Bianca so well. She did housework for the first time ever in that episode. Funny how she thought she’d just move her baby and fella into Irene’s, without even asking first. Plus, she hasn’t been at her job at the school in about five months. They must get great maternity leave in Australia.

Two little mates

Friday, October 19th, 2012

Romeo’s dreams are falling apart in front of his eyes. He went for a walk on the beach with his “best mate” only to be told that he’s carrying on with his ex-wife. Romeo can’t stand the sight of Liam now and is moving out of Leah’s house to show his displeasure. Maybe he can follow Ruby’s road to ruin and go sulk in a van for a while before sabotaging Liam’s motorbike.

Tim’s new business venture means that Roo has landed a dream job for herself. The downside is that she’ll have to commute to the city. Harvey is less than impressed about his fiance spending time with her ex. Harvey isn’t very secure in his relationship but Roo wouldn’t do the dirt, would she?

Richard wants Jet, but Jet doesn’t want to go to crappy Western Australia. When his Dad turned up at the gaff looking to collect his nipper, Jet had a change of heart and left with his old man. That’s another former crook kid reformed by the redemptive airs of the bay. He can leave town with his head held high. Gina will be heart-broken now, she’ll have to find another pet project.

Hot head Heath

Wednesday, October 17th, 2012

Heath Braxton is a ticket. He is all sweetness and light with Bianca, and a ball of rage with the Braxton brothers. Poor Dr. Sid can’t say a word without him questioning and doubting it. He has no respect at all for authority – sure what would a doctor know about medical issues? Heath topped off his recent run of rage by giving Casey a bawks (as they say in Dundalk – ‘mon the town) for killing Danny the Dog.

Speaking of the word “dog”, Heath’s delivery is very halfhearted compared to Brax’s. No passion in it.

Casey could do with some bashing lessons; everyone is using him as a punching bag these days. He did have a go at Heath, in an effort to get arrested, but it was more a tumble than a blue.

Marilyn is a bit upset that Danny’s dead. He was always nice to her, the dog.

Roo’s ex is still hanging around. He’s starting up a business in the city, and wants Roo’s advice. I’d say he’s also hoping for a bit of Business Time. Harvey’s reaction is to not act like a real person – does anyone act so jealous when they meet a partner’s ex in real-life?

Everyone’s forgotten about Dexter. I’m going to have to go to Summer Bay Hospital MYSELF to get an update.

Catch-up

Monday, October 15th, 2012

We’re back and all caught up, here are our thoughts:

  • That’s the end of Ruby, everyone was surprisingly nice to her in the end. Hope she has fun in the US.
  • DON’T DIE DEX
  • Roo marrying Harvey, why bother?
  • Will Lottie be back for the wedding?
  • Good hair April
  • Good graveside chat Brax (oi)
  • Good cutting Dex out of car scene
  • Why didn’t the picture get damaged in the car?
  • Orange overalls yes

Danny’s dastardly designs

Wednesday, September 26th, 2012

Danny has poor innocent Casey under his influence. His scheme is coming to fruition and fallout is going to be huge. Casey is getting tight with Ruby and is going to borrow money from her for his road trip with Danny, or so Danny believes. Casey is not quite the fool everyone has him down for. He is in fact a double agent and is keeping tabs on what Danny is at. He let Brax in on his intentions but nobody else knows about his double life. The name’s Braxton, Casey Braxton.

Alf had a chat with Ruby and asked her to move back into Summer Bay house. What is Ruby up to these days? All she seems to do is surf, go for coffee and hang around the caravan park. Charlie’s inheritance means she doesn’t have to work for a living, lifestyles of the rich and foolish.

Harvey is missing Lottie since she went to live with Mel but on the upside he sounds like he’s well up on the latest social media trends and will be able to keep in touch with her. At least the Blaxland is getting upgraded and refitted. How will Roo be able to get him back in good spirits? It might take more than a picnic basket and a bottle of iced tea.

Role reversal

Monday, September 24th, 2012

The times, they are a changin’ in chez Brax. For once it wasn’t Heath saying “I stuffed up”, but Brax. His drug deal didn’t go quite as planned and he was left holding the can. You know when Brax is stressed out as he adopts the Brax stance, with his two arms on the counter and leans forward, contemplating the situation with rising ire. Heath was the voice of reason this time, talking his brother down and getting him to approach the Da Brax problem rationally. Maybe they’ll present a united front against the tyranny of Danny Brax.

Harvey and Mel are still fighting over Lottie and she’s sick of it. Us too Lottie, us too.

Bianca got a bit jittery when Darcy started asking questions about her relationship with Heath. Are they going out or what? She nearly called her mother at one stage. I don’t think Bianca is ready to become stepmother just yet. In fairness, she’ll change her mind tomorrow and come around to the idea. In a town of quick decisions and rash judgements, Bianca takes the biscuit.

Lottie who?

Monday, September 17th, 2012

There was a whole lotta Lottie talk in that episode, but she never appeared. Mel wants her back, and revealed that Haaavey was locked when the young lad died. She’ll tell all in court, if it comes to it. Haaaavey will have to ‘fess up to Lottie first.

Poor Casey, the best of the Braxtons, doesn’t know who to trust. His da is behaving very creepily around all females, plus it’s now common knowledge that Brax is trying to pay back Danny’s 50 large. Perma-bashed Brax met a dodgy dude in a car, and is about to take part in something equally dodgy. Drugs or theft or just plain show-bashing?

Casey very strangely told Ruby to stay close and keep trusting him. WTF?

Trouble in paradise

Monday, September 10th, 2012

Bianca was caught red-handed when April and Dex happened upon her kissing Heath in the hospital. April was miffed but Bianca acted like she had been snared by her mother. Who is the elder sibling? April by the looks of it.

Dex is still mates with Lottie and April is a bit jealous of them spending study time together. Dex has other problems to contend with like eating cereal, he couldn’t even keep it inside his mouth. Smooth. He had a big row with April over Heath & Bianca and spilled his guts to Sasha about it but they’ll be fine in the long run. April is going to go mad when she finds out that April and Heath are a solid item now.

Little Lottie needs to decide where she wants to live. Her mother wants her back but she wants to stay in the Bay with Harvey. Alf and Roo want her to stay too, as does her new bessie Sasha. I’m sure she’ll make the right decision in the end, who could resist the lure of the caravan park?
