For a town that has a disaster at least bi-monthly, Summer Bay is not wise to what to do in an emergency. Harvey and Roo headed out on the boat, Xavier left recent heart-attack and bashing victim JP at home alone, and Dexter and April went out into the storm looking for Sasha.
Luckily Alf turned up at the Surf Club and turned on the emergency channel. Rescue action number one. Felix and Sasha just waltzed into Gina’s and discovered comatose John. They rang Sid and he sent help to 31 Saxon Avenue. Rescue action number two. All the while there were cool montages of fake-looking rain, and Alf said typical Alf stuff like, “flamin’ idiots”.
Xavier found Sasha robbing food from his gaff and John inexplicably gone. More shots of driving rain. Alf and Romeo saved Roo and co., except for Harvey, who is looking pretty dead. Perhaps Romeo will get that mooring after all…
Xavier went straight to the hospital, as it’s his second home these days. He told Sid about Sasha the robber.
Hahaha the face on Sid at the end of that episode when he saw Sasha and Roo having a chat. He’s in trouble now.
Alf and Romeo removed the mooring after the Council said they couldn’t have it. Alf denied all knowledge of it when Harvey called over without any buttons on his shirt. However, Roo’s article outlining Alf’s attachment to the mooring was published in the Coastal News that very day. That’s two more chaps in trouble.
Gina expelled Casey because she was cross with Xavier. When Xave quit on the farm and came home, she tried to take back the expulsion. Casey was having none of it. Eff school, he said.
Poor Roo, she was playing the part of the doctor’s wife way too soon. Between feeding his children and having dates cancelled, she decided the best thing to do was to leave the farm and assume the position of girlfriend again. Looks like her da gives good advice.
Xave told Gina and John about his tryst with Kelly. They were impressed at his maturity and gave them their blessing to take it to whatever level they like. Very progressive.
“That boy is heading for a fall” is what I thought looking at today’s episode. Little did I realise that it would arrive before the end of the show.
He’s in the midst of a period of strife. April & Dexter’s betrayal has hit him hard and he’s in a bad place mentally. Sure he didn’t even feel like earning an honest living delivering pizza, hooning off with Summer was a preferable way to occupy his time. Not happy with mitching off work, he stole a work vehicle and took a passenger. Their joyride didn’t last and they ended up in a heap at the side of the road. I don’t fancy Summer’s chances given that she’s such a minor character, they’re easily expendable. If Gina doesn’t kill Xavier when she finds out, Brax will.
What’s up with Indi? She threw a strop over Roo & Sid despite the fact herself and her bloke are living with Roo. Talk about biting the hand that feeds. There has to be more to it than that. Could it be that married bliss isn’t all she had hoped it would be? If they do break up, it will be setting a new record for short lived relationships. The summer bay time-warp strikes again.
The newly returned newlyweds got an unexpected greeting from Marilyn when they arrived at the farm, unexpected for Sid. He didn’t know what way to look – I’ve already broken up with this woman and here she is pretending she still lives here and we’re still going out. But now the secret is out in the open, Sid can get back to resuming his attempts to woo Roo.
Another newly single man is Xavier. April unceremoniously dumped him, not revealing her true feelings for Dex, or the fact they had a secret pash. Xav is left feeling foolish and forlorn. His plans of a schoolies trip with the gang are up in smoke. I’m not sure quite what a schoolies trip is but it sounds class. The fact that Gina is dead against it makes me think it would be fun.
April is feeling guilty about not coming clean with Xavier but doesn’t feel the time is right. How foolish. Does she not know that her secret will be public knowledge in a matter of minutes? Xav is going to go looking for answers and walk in on the illicit affair, mid pash. I fear that will be more than his limited brain cells can handle.
Charlie came to the rescue at the beach, calling an ambulance when Ruby couldn’t. Xavier went back to the hospital and is grand. As someone pointed out the last time he was in, young males in Summer Bay General are not allowed to wear tops. Anyway, Gina and John had to pass up a trip to Hawaii to keep an eye on the surfing champ.
Dex and Kate called it a day, and April copped on that Dex lurves her. Cue loadsa coy, meaningful glances.
Colleen is amazing. She reckons The Man Upstairs has it in for her, after the small electrocution, due to her gossiping ways. Elijah called over and she went mental. Brilliant. I especially like Morag as nursemaid.
So, Xavier and John “rescued” the laydeez from the perils of the bush. Or they had a mudfight and the girls were grand anyway. It was pretty funny when they caked each other in mud.
Liam is trying to get his head sorted. Bianca is finding this hard to take, she wants to wait for Liam but he is having none of that. In fairness to Ireland’s own, he seems genuine about fixing his addiction issues once and for all, for himself, and not for anyone else.
April seems a bit upset by the whole process. She did her best to get Liam and Bianca back together but it seems like a lost cause. I really hope that Bianca doesn’t “move on†with Heath Braxton. Whatever Liam’s problems are, he’s not as much as a drop kick Heath.
Colleen told Keith to hit the road. She’s not happy with her decision, though. He might be back yet. Here he is being scared by nothing:
Liam Murphy called around to Summer Bay High, looking like a vagrant. Even Milco didn’t look this bad. As if the students didn’t have enough to distract them, with Bianca’s low-cut teaching tops. Gina quickly turfed him out. Later, the youngsters saw him at the top of a cliff, looking a bit jump-y. Bianca reined him back in. I like how he refers to himself in the third person. Big old ocean, little Liam Murphy.
Sid was getting a bit sick of Marilyn and the younger Walkers thought daddy break-up number two was approaching. The doctor is a bit too fond of Roo, even Marilyn has spotted how close they were and asked her for relationship advice. They’re giving it another go though, yippee!
Gina found Liam playing guitar in a ditch. A far cry from the big stadium tours of old.
Well it’s finally happened, Web 2.0 has hit the bay. Again. Last week it was Gina and Facebook. This time it’s Palmer and Twitter, as prompted by Roo. He’s keeping all 20 of his followers riveted with updates from behind the scenes at the surf carnival. All went well until Xavier robbed his iPhone to tweet some updates. Mangrove River got the hump when Xavier, as John, called them creampuffs and criminals. There will be some strife at the carnival itself, no doubt about that.
Colleen and Mick McCarthy are big fans of the Webinet and are forever poking each other. It would be great if Colleen started a twitter account that we could follow in real life. That would be priceless.
Back in RL, Miles and Leah had a wee kiss. So cute. Mwah.
Gina is now a super spy. If she ever decides to leave her job as Summer Bay headmistress she would probably walk into a role with the CIA. She managed to figure out what Xavier was up to by looking at his facebook page. Another bit of cyber stalking and she found out who his girlfriend was. Now she’s invited Miranda to dinner and added her as a friend on Facebook. Slick move Austin. It won’t be long before Xavier’s lies are exposed as Miranda realises he’s not in college at all.
Bianca has FINALLY figured out that April needs professional help. She having some serious mental issues but Bianca was too self absorbed to help her sister before she went away. Now the penny has finally dropped and she has confronted her sister, telling her that this situation can’t go on. I hope April does get some help, she needs it.
