In grand oul Summer Bay tradition, Elijah tells Leah he’s leaving, on his leaving day. Like so many before him, (Geoff, Annie, and so on) the Rev is only dying to get out of town. He’s going to Another Parish. He had a hooley on the beach before he left, and cleared up any stray plotlines while he was at it. See ya later, Rev.

Leah told Brax a barefaced lie when she said she wasn’t interested in him. The truth will come out in the wash.

Liam went MENTILE at Eddie and smashed his guitar. All because Eddie nicked Liam’s lyrics. Fair enough, I thought. The bauld Eddie is denying all culpability, however. What’s that about? What is he playing at? Is he someone’s long-lost relative or something?

April caught Casey and Henri having a secret after-hours pash in Angelo’s. Knowing her capacity for keeping secrets, the whole Bay will know before long.

Sasha the Bashed Basha is going on trial “tomorrow”. This will be good. I hope Morag features heavily.

So, Miles told Leah ’twas him who helped Veej write to Elijah.Â Leah went mental, then calmed down and called around to the caravan park with a confession.Â She’s been writing to Elijah every day since he left.Â Where in the name of God did she get the time to do that?Â No wonder she’s so flustered.

All this talk of Elijah makes me think he might be coming back.Â Normally when someone leaves the Bay, they’re never/rarely heard of again.Â For example, Dani, Jade, Kirsty, Cassie, Rhys, Shelly, Tasha, Geoff, Robbie, and the list goes on.

In another unusual H&A move, no-one has found out about Hugo’s money.Â Well, Charlie knows, but it’s not public knowledge.Â What’s that about?Â Anyway well done to the writers for not following their usual path!

Ah here.Â H&A is way too sad these days.Â First was the whole Miles/Rabbit scenario, and now today Leah and VJ visited Vinnie’s grave to say goodbye.Â That’s enough sadness now, I thought.

Elijah didn’t think so, though.Â He threw in a tragic story about his dad dying on a fishing trip.Â I’m not able for this.

Aden’s stupid brother had a flashback and now thinks he killed their da.Â It looks to me like the dad was drink-driving and had a crash.Â If only they hadn’t buried him, they’d be ok with the cops.

Romeo set up a romantic date with Annie in the gym.Â Possibly inspired by Ruby’s seduction of Geoff using fairy lights, he lit a load of candles.Â The Campbells are suckers for small light sources.

There was a lot of quick moving in that episode.Â Hugo’s “funeral” was about a week ago, so it’s about time Martha moved on.Â First, she expertly roped Liam into working on the farm, then asked him to move in, then leapt on him.Â The girl wastes no time.

Furthermore, Geoff made a life decision and left the Bay to be a missionary in the space of about three hours.Â Ruby didn’t look too happy at all.Â He didn’t even tell Xavier or anyone else in town.

Miles helped Leah get over her agoraphobia.Â She did some pretty good acting so there’s not much to slag off there really.

Geoffrey has lost his mojo. Â The Diner race riots have left him scarred mentally and physically. Â He tried to take it out on one of the hoons in the surf club but two faced Palmer didn’t back him up and Geoff was left feeling stupid. Â Ruby picked the wrong time for a deep and meaningful and Geoff blew his top. Â He kicked her to the curb and get some advice from Alf who suggested he get God on the blower. Â The priest at the church was busy doing the hoovering but took a few minutes out of the housework to give Geoff some meaning to his life. Â But what did he suggest? Â Housekeeper in the church? Â A life of crime? Â Auditioning for the new Captain Birdseye? Â We’ll have to wait until next week to find out.

Mink thought she was dead hard telling Xavier about her crime of passion. Sure murder is nothing special in Summer Bay. In fact, it’s the least of the local worries – top of that list is finding a spot on the beach to sit and think about your woes.

Leah has caught the Alf bug and then some; she’s falling apart. There she was, sitting on the floor, roaring crying. Maybe she was trying to recreate the riot scenes. That’s what she did then too. She should invite Irene, Ruby and Colleen around to complete the picture.

Geoff gave Ruby a good telling-off. Her moaning about how she was to blame for the riot tipped him over the edge. I don’t think fairy lights will win him around this time.

Did you see the face on Charlie when Angelo was promoted above her?Â So disgusted.Â At least they discussed it and now it’s sorted (boss).

I never thought I’d say this, but Alf is being really annoying with his constant threats to leave the Bay.Â Just go, so.Â Himself and Angelo became great mates within the space of a day, downing tinnies in the Caravan Park of an evening.

Why did Geoff take advice from Martha, the walking disaster area?Â “Get saltwater into the wound”, she said.Â Geoff doesn’t get metaphors, so he ripped off his bandages and lepped into the sea.Â I wonder what Doctor Armstrong will have to say about that.Â Maybe it’s a radical new therapy they use in Summer Bay.

I don’t understand why Alf and Geoff are so traumatised.Â Fair enough with Leah as her fella got bashed in front of her very eyes.Â But all the two lads were doing was firefighting until the authorities arrived.Â Unless they still can’t believe that everyone else sat on the floor and left them to deal with the disaster.Â That’d leave a sour taste in my mouth, too.

Fairy lights

In today’s episode, Ruby got Geoff to take it to the next level with her.Â What was her secret weapon?Â Fairy lights.Â Geoff loves them, can’t get enough of them, thinks they are dead sexy.

Nicole, in the space of about two hours, found out Liam cheated on her, broke up with him, and decided she was in love with Aden.Â The girl must be working to a deadline.Â Also, her hair was deadly tied up.

Aden got the ok to move on from dead Belle, so he quit his job, nicked a car, and took Nicole on a spin.Â Not his brightest move.

Finally, Leah got Miles to eat something.Â I miss the days when he was eating in every scene.

Miles Copeland hasn’t had it easy since he moved to Summer Bay.Â As a down-and-out, he slept on the beach and wrote cryptic messages in the sand in the hopes that his sister would find him.Â Naturally, he went from living hand-to-mouth to becoming a teacher at the only school in town, and won the heart of Kirsty Sutherland.Â Unfortunately she turned out to be a total wagon.

These days Miles spends his time getting bashed and threatening children.Â It looks like Riley’s dad is behind it all.Â I hope the YCPD can crack this case.Â If not maybe they should bring Robert Robertson back.Â Maybe they should just do that anyway.

So, the teenage(-ish) couples of Summer Bay are all talking about sex.Â Ruby and Geoff decided they’ll have a go, while in a startling move, Nicole is standing her ground with Liam and refusing him access.Â Is that because she’s changed her tune, or because she has her wee eye on Aden?Â Ooooh, mucho mysterioso.

Now, where are Martha and Hugo and Suzy and Bungbung?

Martha is pining after BangBang/BumBum and Hugo is really pushing the “he needs to be with his own people” angle. What’s he at? Maybe HIS INDONESIAN WIFE who just showed up at his and Martha’s house can explain.

Gina is very annoyed with JPIII ever since he fired Romeo. That’ll cool his heels alright, but it’s nothing a surf and a drink won’t fix.

Geoff and Ruby have had their first tiff; he’s being over-protective and she is a big girl who can look after herself. Luckily Uncle Tony was on hand to dole out the only level-headed advice in all of Summer Bay to Geoff. Plus Rachel had a chat to Ruby. The Holden-Armstrongs should open a counselling centre. Dan who?

Would somebody please go to Japan?

So Clint Eastwood is back on the scene, complete with son.Â He got arrested but managed to escape due to the ineptitude of the YCPD.Â He ran off to find the son, but instead bumped into the creepy weirdo from the island who Nicole and Geoff met a few months back.Â Turns out creepy weirdo speaks good Indonesian.Â Handy one.

Kirsty and Miles are in a bad way.Â Jai doesn’t know whether to eff off to Japan or not.Â So he told Annie she could go.

I still can’t believe Martha is running for office.Â That’ll be some laugh.Â It’ll be regulation miniskirts and knee-high boots in Summer Bay if she has her way.

The reveal

OK, does Geoff only have one white vest?Â And when it’s in the wash, has he no choice but to walk around topless?

Xavier is wise to Geoff and Ruby.Â He warned Geoff off and after looking mega-confused for a while, Geoff agreed to leave Ruby alone.
Ruby’s not impressed though.

Nicole is going to the next level with Liam Murphy the rock star.Â This is a disaster in Kirsty’s eyes.Â I’d say Kirsty is jealous.Â Maybe she just wants a roll on the beach herself.

Charlie’s police radio went off in the diner – AT FULL BLAST.Â I’m surprised all the customers didn’t follow her to the police emergency.

Angelo, under slight duress, spilled the beans about his undercover operation.Â People-smuggling!Â Exotic!Â He thinks it’s Hugo running the show, but I bet it’s not.Â Who could it be?Â Palmer?Â Morag?Â Colleen?Â The excitement!

Sink it and die Austin

Ah, so Ruby Leeds is trying to steal Brendan away to a community house.Â Sure what harm, you might think.Â But Mammy Austin instinctively returned to the Bay just in time to stop Hugo shipping his brother off.Â She wants to keep Brendan all to herself.Â I’d say Ruby will convince her to set him free, though.

Geoff saw Ruby in the nip.Â He’s well into her.Â He’ll probably have visions of her now, just like Miles did when he first encountered Kirsty’s knickers.Â On a related note, the Aden and Geoff scenes are keeping the comedy scores up at the moment.

Hugo got a death threat.Â It was just like in the movies, with cut-out letters and everything.Â Spooky.Â Was it Trey’s da?Â Where’s Trey again?Â Did he go to jail?

CSI Summer Bay? Â Grant’s body turning up on the beech prompted the city to send in detective Robert Robertson to crack heads and get to the bottom of things ASAP. The Bay now has it’s own Dale Cooper.Â He’s already suspended Charlie and tried to do the same to Angelo. He brought Ruby to make her clap like a seal for some mad reason. Â Is it just me or does this storyline bear an uncanny similarity to that of Josh West’s killing? Everyone is a suspect and has a motive but it will turn out to be somebody else altogether.

Geoff and Aidan miming the boat test was classic. Turn my ear to start the engine. Â Brilliant stuff. Â When they roped Alf in, it got even better. Â More of this kind of thing.

Whoop whoop, Brendan is back, throwing parties and telling tales.Â Ma Austin has a new fella and she doesn’t wanna talk about it.

Nicole is well into Sid now, she called to his house on the night of her birthday and basically demanded a trip to the next level.Â I don’t know why he’s resisting; it really is futile.

Xavier is in big trouble after roaring at Ruby when he saw Geoff helping her into her dress.Â Geoff however, saw an opportunity and wooed her with chick flicks and ice-cream.

Oh bejingo, Angelo Risotto Rossetti is on an undercover mission; to get Hugo.Â He has Gibsy working for him now.Â It’s only a matter of time before his secret is uncovered along with a box of hands that he keeps on his boat (probably).

Bye bye Belle

So, Belle is a goner. She only got married last week, yesterday she was swimming and today, she’s kaput. That was the fastest non-accidental demise ever.

Still and all when it came to it, it was touching, and nice that Belle got to go home to Irene’s. I half expected Aden to climb out the window the next morning. Earlier in the episode there was loads of messing with Liam Murphy trying to make amends, and Amanda trying to hospitalise Belle. Sound Doctor Sid sorted her out by calling Rachel in. I’m not really sure what Rachel did, but it worked.

This is actually very upsetting. Belle wasn’t half as annoying as some of the SB residents and now she’s on the way out. Irene didn’t take it too well but she came around in the end. I was waiting for a classic “Oh my Gawdfather” but perhaps the situation was too grave.

Dunno why Nicole has gone stone mad though; has she just copped on that Roman is in jail? Confused Geoff was certainly striking while the iron was hot anyway!
