Ooh, the writers of Home and Away are toying with our emotions, and no mistake. The Family Palmer were as happy as possible, and Jett was being as cute as possible, so of course something had to go wrong. Gina had some class of aneurysm. You know things are bad when you start seeing yourself as an apparition.

At least she remembered one of her other sons before disaster struck. I was half-expecting her to answer the phone with a “Xavier who?”. Poor Bandicoot and Hugo don’t get a look in.

Marilyn foresaw it all, of course. She’ll be feeling mega-guilty for days now.

Dex felt bad for taking it to the next level in the hospital. He’s obviously never seen Grey’s Anatomy. April, spurred on by the positive-thinking-vibes of her recent girls’ night, confronted him and wished him luck in the future. He just looked confused.

Alf is training Maddy for Surf-life saving and he’s not going easy on her. He has her running sprints and saving the pretend corpse of a dead man. She’s not his best student ever but she’s very eager. Then Spencer and his bro returned from their trip away and Harvey is worried about the bad influence Chris is having. They seem to have come up with something while they were away, but he’s not being clear on what it is. Maddy made breakfast arrangements with Spencer but then he blew her off by not turning up for it. Harvey is very curious, nay suspicious. He confronted Chris about his motives but didn’t get any straight answers. Maddy asked Spencer what’s going on and he said he needs to go home and asked her to go with him. What’ll she do now?

Indi is now running the gym and she doesn’t want Casey involved. Romeo promised him the job but Indi says things have changed now. Casey is forlorn as he was depending on the gym job but then Sid told him to go easy on her as Romeo has gone away to die. She wants to do things her way even though Sid asked her to keep Casey on as she needs help. She relented after giving him the third degree, making sure he didn’t know anything about Romeo leaving. She’s running the gym with an iron fist, she’s a strong leader like Stalin. Chris had a workout at the gym and then decided to ask Indi out on a date. She said no, but in a not now way, rather than not ever. Then she asked Casey to help her throw out all of Romeo’s stuff. Sid asked her to hold off but she’s not having any of it, he’s getting the flack for not revealing her husband’s illness. Doctor in the doghouse.

Romeo is hastening his own death by quitting chemo. His reason for this suicidal course of action is because he’s trying to hide his condition from his wife and this will be harder to do if he’s suffering the effects of life-saving treatment. He’s worried what effect telling her the truth will have on her, making him losing his own life a small price to pay. He has a history of stupid moves, failing his HSE on purpose, but this takes the biscuit, or tim tam.

Dex is back working as a nurse in the hospital but isn’t allowed to deal with the patients so he’s stuck to mopping floors and the like. He doesn’t seem too enamoured with it all. April thinks their break-up is going very well and reckons it’s only a matter of time before they are re-united. She seemed so sure about it that it made me think fate, or the universe, has other ideas.

Heath went to see a counsellor, twice. He only walked out once, which wasn’t bad given his short fuse. Bianca managed him pretty well in this episode, she seems to spend most of her time dealing with the last Heath explosion, it’s like the grenade on his neck has a three minute fuse that keeps getting reset every time it goes off.

Marilyn walked in on Maddy and Spencer as things were getting hot and heavy. They discussed taking things to the next level in his van but were interrupted. Roo and Harvey had to deal with the fall out and decided to sit them down for the talk. Now Spencer doesn’t think he’s ready while Maddy was trying to pounce on him down the beach. Young love eh?

Dex is feeling much better these days, remembering everything. April on the other hand is having problems dealing with the stress and anxiety of Uni and is reverting to her OCD ways. Sid saw her behaviour and is concerned. She lost the plot when trying to deal with her timetable and came back to the diner in tears. Are college timetables that difficult to follow, especially for somebody who got into medicine?

Nat and Zack had a tête-à-tête in the diner after he had confronted Brax on the beach. Zack asked the River boss to stay away from Nat; he replied that it was Nat who needed to be told to steer clear of him. Liam met Nat on the beach for a chat, wearing full biker gear while she was wearing minuscule gym gear. Does Liam have reptilian blood?

By the way it seems that we got it wrong on Liam, he didn’t leave the Bay after all. He met Romeo on the clifftop last Friday and the kid put Liam’s problems into perspective by revealing his terminal cancer. Hopefully that will snap Liam out of his recent funk. He’ll have to find a job somewhere, not many options open to him in the Bay now.

Sasha thinks she’s going to vom for some reason, I hope she doesn’t get it all over Dex now that he’s the most popular man on campus again. He’s stoked to be back in the swing of things. Dex says that Uni is going so well that it feels like he’s drinking from the fountain of knowledge. April confided in Sasha that Uni didn’t go quite so well for her. She also wants Dex back, but he remains oblivious to the fact. Sasha pushed them back together and they eventually admitted that things hadn’t been going as well as they had been letting on. Hopefully they’ll get back together and quit their messing.

Jett is still being bullied by Tilda. Sasha interrupted the latest incident and told him to rat her out to Gina, but Jett thinks it’s pointless for some reason. He later reluctantly agreed though, and John was called in for the consultation with the head mistress. They told him to turn the other cheek, which he’s trying to do, but it’s tough going. Gina called the ma in but she turns out to be a wagon who thinks her daughter can do no wrong. Tilda hasn’t let up and is continuing to abuse Jett, hard old station for him.

Liam is at a low ebb again. He’s been sacked from his job for theft, and his ex-wife is getting re-married to his arch enemy. He had a heart to heart with Irene where she told him he’d bounce back. He took his ill-gotten gains from Angelo’s and posted them to his son. Then he mounted his bike and sped off. Is that the end of the rock god’s Bayside stay? If so, he’s gone out with a wimper rather than a bang.

TwoTube are going to have a special guest in studio tomorrow, none other than Luke Mitchell who plays Romeo, they should ask him how the new gym is going.

Maddie and Spencer are back in town. He arrived first, and Roo sent him packing in search of his true love. His true love, however, showed up 15 minutes later, so there was a dramatic “stop the bus!” moment. Spencer’s dad then showed up at the caravan park to demand his son’s return. Best of luck with that, daddio.

Tilda is being an awful dickhead to poor oul’ Jett. She gave him another dig in the stomach, but this time John Palmer showed up. Hopefully she will get her comeuppance now.

Dex and April broke up again. She is heading off to college, so that’s probably the last we’ll see of her.

Sid is off getting his head sorted. Indi is grand with him having his own time, but Dex was too curious about his well-being. He went looking for his Dad and tracked him down, can’t see Sid being too happy about his family finding out about his breakdown.

Romeo had a chat with John Palmer and got a brain-wave when discussing the gym. What’s happened to the old Summer Bay Super Bods? Nobody is leasing it at the moment so Romeo and Indi are going to take it over. Will they do as good a job as Jesse and Hayley did when it first opened? Tony and John also had a go at running it . I back Romeo to get it going, it’s a perfect job for somebody like him, plus he’ll have Indi’s business acumen at his disposal.

Alf and Celia are still a-bluing. Marilyn decided to mediate in the scrap and get the siblings back on speaking terms. Alf said he is sick of his little sister’s lies. He should ask her to stick her tongue out to see if it’s black.

It’s been a while but out of the night sprang two teen runaways. They turned up at the caravan park with a vague story and some hungry bellies. They got a van on the never-never, scammed a breakfast from Marilyn in the diner and then dined and dashed in Angelo’s. That’s pretty much every business in the bay covered, a veritable crime wave.

Casey is perplexed. Tamara is forcing him to make a decision. She wants him to figure out if he wants to be with her, he reckons he needs to sort out where his life is going first. He flipped it back on her and said she needs to sort out her family situation with her brother first. So he gave her money and a kiss and sent her off on her way. All the girls love a bad boy come good.

Dex is also facing life changing decisions. He’s having to face up to a life on medication and is finding it hard to take. April is hoping he’ll stop feeling sorry for himself and get his college life back on track. She laid down the law with him and he took her advice. Less wallowing, more progress.

Argh, Brax is great at being threatening. He warned Jamie that he would be a goner if Heath had died all at sea. It didn’t take long for Jamie’s great plan to be unravelled. Now, where has Heath gone? Surely he couldn’t have used his mighty tattooed biceps to swim all the way to Summer Bay?

Kyle gave a great speech about second chances; he earned 200 Brax-points for that.

Everyone was happy about Dr. April, except for Dex, who was worried he’d be left behind. The couple had a good chinwag and all is well.

Bianca is such a selfish wagon, it’s hilarious. She barely acknowledged April’s great news, and slunk off to her room. Then, when she got some good news herself, she was all chat, about herself of course.

Roo is ditching Harvey, not quite at the altar but not far off. Celia and Morag turned up for the wedding but Celia made it clear that she doesn’t approve of Roo’s fella. Harvey “Banger” Ryan took that as his cue to leave and went down to the pub with Gary and Winston. The lads told Harvey that his leg break was only a joke, he didn’t see the funny side of it and let Winston have it with both barrels, just as Roo walked into the bar. She wasn’t impressed with his vicious attack on his mate and started questioning their relationship and their impending nuptials – just what we’ve been saying for months.

Dex is worried about April, he thinks he is holding the poor girl back. His solution? Dump her ass. Strange behaviour from the young martyr but it won’t last, they’ll be back together before long.

Bianca is on a mission, she’s not letting Heath go without a fight. He isn’t interested in a renewal of their liaison, too dangerous. I suspect she’ll get her way, somehow.
