Who was the mystery weirdo watching Charlie and Brax having a pash? Wouldn’t it be deadly if it was Alf, and this was a hobby of his?

Anyway would Charlie and Brax ever eff off? She’s a cop and bad at her job. He’s a prior dealie (betcha that’s a word) with ties to his past. I get it, it’s a conflict. Zzzzzzzz

Miles found out about Elijah fancying Leah. He was heartbroken, poor thing. Leah doesn’t know, and has no interest in the Rev. Good woman Leah, he’s turned into a SAP. Miles is going to visit Sally in Thailand, hopefully he meets Cassie and Baby Henk too.

Romeo got yet another job, and immediately asked for an advance. My faith in his business acumen is dwindling by the day.

Sid and Roo are an item again. Turns out she loves paeLLa.

Mink out, Sasha bashed

So Doctor Sid discovered that Mink has a disease (which I can’t spell), which means she can’t surf professionally anymore. Romeo very soundly offered to share his surf teaching business with her, but she left town. She’ll be back.

Stew/Stu chased Sasha down when she refused a lift from him. Later she turned up with some torso bruises. Please let Sid batter Stew soon.

Alf is gathering the troops and organising his campaign. A mighty sight.

Sozzled surfer

As per usual, I was left wondering what Roo was wearing. Her dress looked like a really poor floor print. Despite yet another fashion faux pas, it didn’t stop her telling Harvey where to get off when he asked her to be his campaign manager. Fair dinkum. She’s determined that Harvey won’t win the council elections but how can she stop him? By getting her dad on board, Alf’s had all he can stand and can’t stand no more, he’s running against Harvey and I’m backing him to win.

Brax suggested that Heath join himself and Charlie in the city. I thought it was a mental idea but Charlie agreed to go along with it. Is Heath not an adult? Surely he can make his own way in life without having Brax babysit him.

How many times was Romeo topless in that episode? Only twice by my count. Minx is causing all kinds of problems between Romeo and Indi. Mink reckons that Indi is stopping Romeo from doing what he really wants to do. Mink borrowed more money from Romeo so that she could compete in a surf comp, unbeknownst to Indi. Her competition revealed the truth to Romeo, Mink’s lost her bottle, she’s losing competitions all over the place and turning up drunk. Poor thick Romeo, Mink has him wrapped around her little finger.

Hooning around like a wild hog

Liam’s in the hospital after colliding with Brax and Charlie’s cahhhh. I hope nothing happens to Xavier before the rockstar recovers, there’ll be no bed for him.

Heath and Bianca covered for Chax. Bianca is overly distraught, considering she and Liam are no longer an item.

Sid convinced Alf to hold off on the boat sale. Harvey is very anxious to close the deal. He called around to Romeo to give him a bollocking. Indi overheard and was shocked at Harvey’s extreme knobishness.

Sam admitted to driving the apple core getaway car, meaning Brax is off the hook. Charlie still resigned though. Boss Joyce was confused as to why.

Sid made a house call to Irene, who seems to have lost her hair overnight. That’s the end of her lovely new do! Roo called around and ad a blue with Sid, who ended up telling her Harvey is a fool and he still loves her. Awwww.

Home and Away is off the air now, until JANUARY 16th! How on earth will we manage?

Leah and Miles blue-ing

This breakup is very difficult for Leah, Miles, Veej, and most importantly, me! I don’t know how much more moping, staring into the distance, talking to everyone but each other about it, crying over the answering machine, and general all-round misery I can take.

Romeo basically told Alf to sell Harvey the boat. I hope it blows up the first time he takes it out on the water, the big weird bastard.

We’ve had some comments that Alf had the best quote of all time in today’s episode, but I can’t remember it – what was it?

Update: I forgot about Charlie’s date with the robbery victim, and it being uncovered that Brax was the getaway driver in said robbery. Good police work by Constable Watson.

Harvey’s hoax

Harvey is some boy. He poured petrol on the Blaxland, then “saved the day” when Alf was around, blaming Romeo for the spill. He then offered to buy the boat. Luckily Liam saw Harvey on the boat with the petrol. Grr Harvey is such a weirdo.

Miles and Leah agreed to stay together, were back to normal for about five minutes, then had a row, and Miles moved out. Veej saw it coming. He might be the most sensible person in the Bay.

Indi got an internship with the dude who’s building the new resort. Hope he doesn’t turn out to be a perv.

On a boat

Could Romeo’s business be back on track? Harvey is trying to make amends for his earlier mistakes and pay Romeo back for saving his life. Alf can see that it makes sense as a business idea, but Romeo seems more circumspect. I reckon Harvey’s near death experience has made him turn over a new leaf. If Roo agrees to a date then we’ll know for sure that he’s on the straight and narrow as she always seems to have good judgment.

Sid gave Sasha the mother of all bollockings. She was, as he said irresponsible, but it seemed she felt bad enough about it already so maybe Sid could have timed things better. Dex and Indi were really helpful and friendly when little Felix was brought home from the hospital. It’s about time Sasha got the chip off her shoulder and started to appreciate the effort all of the Walkers are making for her and Felix. Sasha lost it with Sid when he couldn’t convince Felix’s dad to part with his son after a five-minute chat which was a bit unfair on poor Sid.

The diner is all changed now. Roo & Marilyn are running it while Leah and Irene are off work. Roo put her neck on the line for Sasha in the diner. I hope that she doesn’t live to regret it. Roo has a habit of adopting a younger protegé, see Nicole and Indi in the past. Is there anything that Roo can’t do?

Storm warning

It seems the Bay, just like real life Dublin, is suffering from extreme weather conditions. That’s some coincidence considering that while the downpour was happening yesterday, I thought what we need now is Alf and the emergency rescue team in the orange suits.

Gawd save Ireland, Irene is having it tough. The cancer needs to be operated on but she’s told Leah and she’s ready to tell everybody about her cancer. That will be a weight off April’s young shoulders who was carrying the burden on her own.

Indi gets a lot of slagging on this blog for her insane outfits but her vest with the cat on it today was lovely on her. Fairplay, for once.

Hahaha the face on Sid at the end of that episode when he saw Sasha and Roo having a chat. He’s in trouble now.

Alf and Romeo removed the mooring after the Council said they couldn’t have it. Alf denied all knowledge of it when Harvey called over without any buttons on his shirt. However, Roo’s article outlining Alf’s attachment to the mooring was published in the Coastal News that very day. That’s two more chaps in trouble.

Gina expelled Casey because she was cross with Xavier. When Xave quit on the farm and came home, she tried to take back the expulsion. Casey was having none of it. Eff school, he said.

Burying the hatchet

Indi managed to get over herself and talk to her ma, for Dexter’s sake. Very progressive of her. What kind of an accent does Jodi have anyway? Roo is having problems accepting second best in Sid’s priority list and kicked him to the curb. Roo doesn’t have much luck in love by all accounts.

Alf is a big cricket legend apparently. No doubt he was the inspiration for Shane Warne and the Aussie team.

I felt a bit sorry seeing Liam ask Romeo for a job. He must be desperate. It’s not that long since Romeo was working for Liam, fixing up his gaff. How the tables have turned. He is being very helpful and sympathetic to Bianca, she let him stay over. In fairness, why are herself and April still living with Irene? It’s about as logical as Charlie and Ruby still living with Leah.

Duffed

So Leah is knocked up. This is bad news for her for a number of reasons:

She will now be super-duper flustered for at least nine months / however long a pregnancy lasts in Summer Bay
The child will probably be as hungry as its father, which means she’ll be bankrupt before the bub is one
Veej will no doubt have a mickey fit

Romeo’s boat got trashed, so he went off half-cocked, accusing Harvey,a fellow entrepreneur from a neighbouring berth, of doing it in an attempt to sabotage his business. He even phoned the cops. However, it turned out one of the boys at Elijah’s shelter did the nicking. Cue shame-faced Romeo trying to make it up with Harvey. Too late, Smith, for Harvey already reported the Blaxland for not having a mooring licence. But surely Alf can use his influence with the council to get one? No?

Sid and Roo and Indi and Dexter are all best buds now, after doing a bit of farm maintenance. Except this happy family to be rocked by the arrival of Sid’s ex, who Dex invited over.

Kelly’s conundrum

Dean had an eventful episode. Not only did he run over Bianca, but he fought with Liam, was dobbed in as a serial sex offender by his sister and got arrested by the cops. Xavier should have taken the opportunity to say “I told you so” to his family. Not often he’s proved right.

Alf tricked Roo and Marilyn in to making dinner. Good trick Alf. They made loads so he won’t have to do any cooking for a week. Miles will be happy, expect more scenes where he’s stuffing his face.

Romeo set up his romantic cruise business with some fancy cutlery and lights but made the classic Summer Bay mistake of telling Coleen how well things were going. Cue a disaster where the borrowed silver was robbed and the boat wrecked. He should have kept his mouth shut.

Alf is going to be commemorated in wax. Unfortunately you have to go as far as Sydney to get a look at him.

Also, Esther Anderson aka Charlie says her ma fancies Brax. Ooh-er. Also, she was born in Geelong.

Ship to shore

Given the way Marilyn was smothering Nicole she must have felt like saying “I’m on maternity, get me out of here!” She had enough of Marilyn’s schedule and girl’s day in, it was all getting too much. So when Angelo called over to see how she was doing, she took the opportunity to bail. Out of there like she stole something.

The two mates went down to the pier to see Romeo cleaning Alf’s boat. They begged the young layabout to let them on board and take the Blaxland out for a cruise. He relented, theft of property is no big deal when you have an ex YCPD Sergeant on board.

Angelo suggested Romeo start taking the boat out for charter cruises, like Hugo used to do. Maybe Romeo will get into people smuggling too. It would probably be more profitable that his surf school which isn’t going too well so far. He didn’t seem too impressed when the redhead boy turned up for his first lesson. IS he trying to say redheads can’t surf?

The River Boys

Not since the hazy, lazy, crazy days of Johnny and Rocco has the Bay seen a band of boys so goddamn bad. These hombres are really shaking up the town. They must have heard that Alf was off globetrotting, and in they swooped. Colleen has the measure of them, shrieking “Hooligans” every chance she gets.

Been spending most my life, living in a Gangsta’s Paradise. So says Casey, the newest addition to Summer Bay High. He’s already mates with Romeo, who no doubt will be easily led astray. I’m just waiting for Coolio to show up.

Elijah’s on the way back from “Africa”. He’s got news. Colleen’s convinced Leah he’s coming back to sweep her off her feet. I bet he’s got a new sheila.

Don’t leave us, Mr. Stewart! Who’ll keep Palmer under control? Who’ll provide bait for the fishermen of Australia? Who’ll sort the galahs from the flamin’ idiots? This is gonna be a shambles.

Xave nearly died in that episode, with Gina and April looking on. Doctor Sid saved the day though. That’ll teach the kids to mix toxic chemicals in the sink.

Ooh, Nicole got seduced by the glamour of college life. She even met a nice boy at her very first college party. Sweet. Pity she’s up the duff.

Dr. Sid and Marilyn have agreed to look into other options, in case Nicole sees the chisler and wants it for her very own. Sensible. However, when they told Nicole, she threw a mickeyfit. This storyline will probably swing back and forth until she has the baby.

I forgot that Morag and Marilyn are mates. Flathead pointed out that Marilyn used to be Morag’s housekeeper, but that’s long before my H&A time.

Alf handed over control of the Surf Club to JP. He’s taking some me time. I bet he goes to visit Sally/be in a West End show.

Banjo-playing backwater

Well, Alf is out and he’s ready for a scrap. He’s raging against the changes made to the surf club in his absence by the original JP. Personally, I don’t think they’re too outrageous. Paying for parking after four hours is fair enough. How could you spend four solid hours in the surf club anyway?

Despite his new-found vigour, Alf has also emerged as the most forgiving man in all Australia. First he had a chinwag to Irene, who was ready to see him locked away for life. Then he hightailed it down to the cop shop for a tete-a-tete with Will, even convincing him to speak to Lilly before he went down.

Will turned out to be a bit of a tragic figure. He’s off to jail and for a long time, be the sound of it. I’m living for the day when Gypsy shows up.

Lilly seemed happy enough with her da’s explanation of what happened. So much so that she gave Veej his first kiss. Cute!

Morag and Colleen deserve their own spin-off show. Their repartee is delicious.
