Brothers in the Bush

For some mad reason, Casey and Kyle went out to the Bush to sort out their differences. They agreed they are better off without Danny THE DOG, and Kyle swore off Tamara. They returned to the Bay after a night hitching, because Casey locked the keys in Indi’s gym car.

Indi fired Casey; she’s sick of being abandoned. Casey ignored the firing and showed up for work as usual. Luckily Indi didn’t argue, as she is going mad with grief.

Brax, now that all the Braxtons are sorted, told Ricky he likes her. Cue disaster, and possible appearance of Ghost-Charlie at long last.

Kicked out for love

Indi is finding it hard to face up to life on her own. She’s still not talking to Sid and wasn’t very forthcoming when April called into her for a heart-to-heart in the gym. She rang his phone and left him a voicemail saying she wants to be there for him. Will he return to die?

Kyle and Tamara had a tete-a-tete in his house, getting it all off their chests, but left the door open while doing it. Unfortunately for them, Brax was listening to the entire exchange. He leaned on various fixtures and fittings and gave Kyle a serve. Tamara is afraid to tell Casey about the illicit kiss, who knows what crazy eyed Casey will do? Brax talked to Tamara, still trying to solve other people’s problems. He suggested sending Casey to him for a box if there were any issues, great solution. Tamara told her fella the truth and he went postal for a few minutes before she calmed him down, she has no interest in the newest Braxton bro. Brax kicked Kyle out for his actions, sentencing him to a few weeks in a van.

John is afraid to get a medical check from Sid as it might mean he has health problems and can’t adopt Jett. John is impatient to get his results but wants Sid to gloss over his cardiac issues. I can’t see Sid bending the rules to suit John.

After bursting into Bianca’s class with this great idea, Heath got Darcy’s Granny around to show off how mature he has become. She couldn’t believe he’s going to counselling. When she was leaving, I thought to myself “River Granny’s a bit shook there”.

Next thing Heath knew, Granny Connie had whisked Darcy away, “inter-state”. Uh-oh.

Tamara stuck her nose into the Rosie storyline, and wanted to give Mullens a bollocking. Kyle stopped her, then approached Mullens himself, with a very, very, River Boy, “Oi”. Kyle is as strange as Casey when he’s trying to be threatening, except he’s all lower teeth instead of eyes.

Speaking of eyes, Casey’s are going to full-on burst out of his head when he finds out that Kyle kissed Tamara. And that, despite her initial panic, she liked being the jam in a River Boy sandwich.

Something’s gone awry with Jett’s adoption. Of course it has, that crowd were far too happy.

Sid had his collar way up, a la Ross O’Carroll-Kelly.

Not the Incredible Hulk

Ricky and Brax were in the diner when when Natalie and Zac arrived in and it was all a bit awkward. Brax and Nat are definitely getting back together at some stage but he’s having fun with Ricky at the moment. They slept together again but she’s keeping it very casual for now.

Heath is making progress in his counselling and apologised to Connie which means he can see Darcy again. Bianca met Ricky and thought she and Brax were perfect for each other, don’t know how she made her mind up on that after a 30 second conversation. Bianca then decided to bake a cake as Darcy and Heath were coming over but it was a disaster. Is she ever going to move out of Irene’s house? Connie changed her mind about letting Heath see Darcy but he managed to keep his temper, he not the Hulk anymore.

Mullins is back at school and confronted Rosie and Sasha. Gina intervened and separated them but told Sasha to keep her distance from Mullins and not lose her temper. The cops showed up at school to talk to Rosie, Mullins is a free man as the cops didn’t believe Rosie’s story. He confronted the girls in the corridor again and Sasha bashed him in the mouth, so she’s suspended now.

April found out Dex was sleeping with The Nurse. She didn’t realise it was really over.
Maddie told Spencer he can go home if he wants, but she’s not going.
Natalie has given up her Braxton Ban big-stylee
Brax is pursuing Ricky, who seems to be a wildlife photographer.

Stewart the slave driver

Alf is training Maddy for Surf-life saving and he’s not going easy on her. He has her running sprints and saving the pretend corpse of a dead man. She’s not his best student ever but she’s very eager. Then Spencer and his bro returned from their trip away and Harvey is worried about the bad influence Chris is having. They seem to have come up with something while they were away, but he’s not being clear on what it is. Maddy made breakfast arrangements with Spencer but then he blew her off by not turning up for it. Harvey is very curious, nay suspicious. He confronted Chris about his motives but didn’t get any straight answers. Maddy asked Spencer what’s going on and he said he needs to go home and asked her to go with him. What’ll she do now?

Indi is now running the gym and she doesn’t want Casey involved. Romeo promised him the job but Indi says things have changed now. Casey is forlorn as he was depending on the gym job but then Sid told him to go easy on her as Romeo has gone away to die. She wants to do things her way even though Sid asked her to keep Casey on as she needs help. She relented after giving him the third degree, making sure he didn’t know anything about Romeo leaving. She’s running the gym with an iron fist, she’s a strong leader like Stalin. Chris had a workout at the gym and then decided to ask Indi out on a date. She said no, but in a not now way, rather than not ever. Then she asked Casey to help her throw out all of Romeo’s stuff. Sid asked her to hold off but she’s not having any of it, he’s getting the flack for not revealing her husband’s illness. Doctor in the doghouse.

Rosie raped

Rosie was raped by “Mullens”, after a pash in his car. She went straight to Sasha, who should be the town counsellor instead of Natalie. After a face-off with Mullens, who seems to think he did nothing wrong, they went to the police. There are no local characters down the cop shop anymore, so maybe her case will be handled correctly. Fingers crossed.

Sid told Sash and Dex about Romeo. Dex told April. It’ll spread like wildfire.

In his grief, Dex managed to score his nurse mate. He told April that being friends wasn’t working out, and that they should avoid each other. She’s not impressed.

Spencer took off with his brother, who so boring I can’t remember his name. Harvey is mega-worried. He sees Spencer as a reincarnation of his dead son Ben, not literally, but he likes having a son figure about. It’s gas how Maddie and Spencer arrived about a month ago, and now Harvey says he doesn’t know what he’d do if Spence left. Ah, relax.

Maddie is taking up life-saving, with Jett. Will there be a near-drowning incident?

Gina took some tablets for a headache. No-one in the Bay ever has minor ailments. Also, the Palmer family is a bit too happy. They’ve almost adopted Jett.

Natalie’s fella (who is also so boring I can’t remember his name) wants a job from Gina, but his crim record is getting in the way. Sickener, Teach.

Romeo the ultimate dickhead

Romeo, in an unbelievably selfish move, left the Bay with Liam Murphy. He said goodbye to Indi in a letter, but neglected to mention that he had cancer. So, she was totally bamboozled. Sid was caught in the middle, and eventually told his daughter the truth. Good acting, poor Indi.

Ricky and Cheryl were stirring things up ’round the Braxtons, mentioning Adam to Bianca, and slagging off Kyle.

Brax gave Kyle a great lecture, about not letting Casey down. He’s a good man for a telling-off. So, Kyle apologised to Casey.

Heath, in an extremely unusual move, gave his ma a lecture over being a wagon to Bianca. It was Braxton Bollocking day.

We reckon Ricky is on a revenge mission to the Bay.

Boxing brothers

Romeo and Indi had their last hurrah by the lighthouse before he told her about his condition. She said she’s ready to have children with him, bad timing as he’s dying. He wrote her a letter and left it by her side as she slept. Brave move dude.

Heath and Bianca had their engagement party in Angelo’s. It was a classy affair, all of the River Boys put on their fancy cloths. Tamara wore a dress for the first time, thanks to April’s help. Adam’s sister Ricky showed up and Brax did a good bit of flirting with her. That was all going fine until Natalie showed up. Kyle got a bit jealous when looking at Casey and Tamara pashing. Then Cheryl showed up to cause havoc but she liked Tamara, surprisingly. Bianca on the other hand, she hates. Kyle got locked and faced off with Casey, who knocked him out after Ma Braxton told everybody that he has the hots for Tamara.

Liam turned up to say goodbye to the bay, forever. He’s off to spend more time with his son. He had to go really, there were no more employment options left for him in the Bay, he’s tried teacher, rock star, barman, restaurateur, he’s just on the dole now, so he may as well cruise off. Farewell rock star, again, I thought he was gone two weeks ago but this time it’s for real.

Romeo’s reluctant to reveal

Romeo should’ve been a holiday planner, instead of a gym bunny. He took Indi off for the weekend to some beautiful tent by the sea, where they gazed into each other’s eyes and re-affirmed their love. It was the perfect place to tell her that he’s sick, wasn’t it?

NO! Mr. Smith is still dragging his heels on the old sharing-your-life-with-your-wife front. But it’s imminent. He has to tell her soon.

Liam Murphy is leaving the Bay in tomorrow’s episode, a suitably low-key farewell for a character that’s run out of steam. He’s tried every job in the Bay, and there’s nothing left for him to do.

Kyle and Heath are planning an engagement party for Beeyonka. No-one can go, and it’s going to be a disaster.

No-one, that is, except Nosey Natalie and her Braxton fixation. Her fella practically begged her to go along and support Bianca. He said he’d stay at home, LIKE A SAP.

Spencer’s brother has arrived, looking very shifty. He told Spence that Mammy Spence really misses him. It sounds like Daddy Spence is a total dickhead. I hope they all move to the Bay.

Maddie was still wearing the VMD (very mad dress). Is she trying to out-Roo Roo?

Troubled teens

Roo and Alf decided to take a hard line with Maddy. They told her she needs to shape up or ship out, start respecting their authority. She finally copped onto herself and apologised to Spencer for her terrible behaviour, but is unwilling to apologise to the oldies, she lives by her own rules. He told her that he wouldn’t hit the road with her again so she sucked it up and said sorry. They all smiled and laughed, what a happy household?

The gym is going great guns. Romeo reckons Heath can take care of it while he goes away with Indi for a few days. He went around thanking those who’ve helped him over the years, like Sid, Roo and Alf. I think he’ll finally tell his wife about his condition. He surprised her at Uni and whisked her off for a Romantic Romeo weekend break. Little does she know, it’ll be the worst weekend of her life.

I own the joint

Alf put the foot down with Maddie as she’s acting out and driving Roo nuts. I think they should take Maddie to see Dr. Sid; her behaviour is so erratic that she could have a brain tumour. She is a totally different character to when she arrived in the Bay.

There was a second mad storyline today, in which Richard came to the Bay to contest John and Gina’s adoption of Jett. Richard, the man who only met Jett once before. Anyway Jett put him straight and the adoption is going ahead.

Sasha and Rosie are back together. Sasha did a Sheldon Cooper and drafted a friendship agreement, which Rosie was only delira with.

Bay’s Anatomy

For a second there, I thought I was watching the wrong show. Between April and dishy doctor-teacher Jake (Twomey?), and Dex and his prankster nurse, it was like being back in Seattle Grace. Are there a few intra-medical romances coming our way? I do hope so.

Casey and Tamara moved in together, in a gaff that Brax had but never used. You could’ve put one of your many house guests in there, Darryl. There was a bit of nudiness, then Casey broke out the moodboards, and decorated the place. He has a real knack. The first interior designer River Boy.

Romeo has my heart broke already. He is croaky, he is bewildered, and he still hasn’t told Indi. Bit mean of him to keep asking his buds to keep his secret, and isn’t he wasting time, the very commodity he’s so concerned about?

Liam Murphy is actually leaving now. He’s giving it another go with Ash. Is that the son or the ex-wife? Either way, tomorrow is probably his last episode, if he obeys the rules of the Summer Bay Time Warp.

A moron and a martyr

Romeo is hastening his own death by quitting chemo. His reason for this suicidal course of action is because he’s trying to hide his condition from his wife and this will be harder to do if he’s suffering the effects of life-saving treatment. He’s worried what effect telling her the truth will have on her, making him losing his own life a small price to pay. He has a history of stupid moves, failing his HSE on purpose, but this takes the biscuit, or tim tam.

Dex is back working as a nurse in the hospital but isn’t allowed to deal with the patients so he’s stuck to mopping floors and the like. He doesn’t seem too enamoured with it all. April thinks their break-up is going very well and reckons it’s only a matter of time before they are re-united. She seemed so sure about it that it made me think fate, or the universe, has other ideas.

Heath went to see a counsellor, twice. He only walked out once, which wasn’t bad given his short fuse. Bianca managed him pretty well in this episode, she seems to spend most of her time dealing with the last Heath explosion, it’s like the grenade on his neck has a three minute fuse that keeps getting reset every time it goes off.

Heath in therapy

The cops showed up after Heath kept Darcy out of school, so Bianca suggested he go to therapy, in order to show Connie he’s a new man and well capable of taking care of his daughter. In the words of Gob Bluth, this is priceless. Imagine Heath in therapy!

Therapist: Mr. Braxton, you are a very angry man.

Heath: I don’t give a stuff.

Therapist: Where do you think this anger is coming from?

Heath: Work it out for yourself, genius.

In other news, I can’t figure Dex and April out at all. They’re together, they’re not together, they’re friends, they’re not friends, it’s ok to study together, it’s not ok to study together ahhhhhh.

April invited some very cool dude to study with her. He thought it was a date. Cringe. Then Dex showed up. Double cringe. It transpired that they are buds from chess club. Triple cringe – for them hahahaahah.

It’s all ok again in the caravan park, after the Next Level Debacle. I reckon Alf will start stoning flamin’ crows if Roo doesn’t stop being so dramatic.

Next level alert 2

Marilyn walked in on Maddy and Spencer as things were getting hot and heavy. They discussed taking things to the next level in his van but were interrupted. Roo and Harvey had to deal with the fall out and decided to sit them down for the talk. Now Spencer doesn’t think he’s ready while Maddy was trying to pounce on him down the beach. Young love eh?

Dex is feeling much better these days, remembering everything. April on the other hand is having problems dealing with the stress and anxiety of Uni and is reverting to her OCD ways. Sid saw her behaviour and is concerned. She lost the plot when trying to deal with her timetable and came back to the diner in tears. Are college timetables that difficult to follow, especially for somebody who got into medicine?

Nat and Zack had a tête-à-tête in the diner after he had confronted Brax on the beach. Zack asked the River boss to stay away from Nat; he replied that it was Nat who needed to be told to steer clear of him. Liam met Nat on the beach for a chat, wearing full biker gear while she was wearing minuscule gym gear. Does Liam have reptilian blood?

By the way it seems that we got it wrong on Liam, he didn’t leave the Bay after all. He met Romeo on the clifftop last Friday and the kid put Liam’s problems into perspective by revealing his terminal cancer. Hopefully that will snap Liam out of his recent funk. He’ll have to find a job somewhere, not many options open to him in the Bay now.

Romeo, Romeo, speak up there Romeo

Mr. Smith has the oul’ caaaanca, but he won’t tell his wife. Well, she’ll deduce it soon enough from his withdrawn ways, and if she doesn’t, her dear daddio will let it slip. I only hope Romeo doesn’t tell Heath, who then tells Indi, as that would be a disaster of Home and Away proportions.

What a diagnosis though! Sid seems to be giving him a little hope with the promise of new treatments, but Romeo is riddled with it.

Gina and John told Jett they wanted to adopt him. Jett, the wee dote, went mad, saying he wasn’t good enough. He gave Gina a good dig by saying her sons wouldn’t like it. I’d say Gina thought, “who?”.

Sasha was so amazing and by-the-book in her petitioning for equal-rights uniforms that Gina is going to back her cause with the PNC. Sasha was delighted with this, but had no friends to tell, since she dissed Rosie. Bad move, Sash.

Last minute reprieve

Casey faced facts that he was going to have to return to jail. He geared up for it, despite Brax advising he go on the run. Then Zack got a phone call at the last moment, saying he didn’t have to go back, so all is good and Zack is the saviour. Unfortunately he paid for it with his job as he got fired by the prisonies. Natalie was dead impressed with his heroism and pashed him right in front of Brax. In your face ex-boyfriend.

Romeo is still keeping his cancer a secret from Indi, despite Sid advising otherwise. Sid called him to come in and said that the cancer had spread to his liver, lungs and brain. WTF? No chance of a last minute reprieve there. The poor fella is not long for this world, which is pretty bad timing as he just gave his wife a “soul mates” bracelet. She’ll be devo when she finds out. It’s like the Belle and Aden storyline again, or Meg and Blake if you want to go really old school.

Sasha is running a campaign to let the girls wear the boys uniform but she’s having problems getting people to sign up. Rosie is acting aloof, trying not to appear desperate to get back into Sasha’s good books. I hope those two manage to have a reconciliation, Rosie needs all the mates she can get, fish can’t be enough.
