Irene to get hair straighteners
Miles to get a nice girlfriend
Bandicoot to return
Ruby and Liam to record another song, building on the amazing success that was Kisses Hurt So Much
Alf to bring some of his West End buds to the Bay
Nicole to launch Tramp Chic in Paris Fashion Week
Someone to remember Jai
Annie to return from Japan
Elijah to return from Africa
Leah to stay in Africa
Will to join Summer Bay Super Bods
Gypsy to come back, kicking ass and taking names
Roo to reveal her name is actually Kangaroo
Charlie to stop looking scared

Any other suggestions?

Dear SummerBayWatcher,

No doubt you are feeling the pain now that “Home and Away” is off our screens. May I suggest that you watch “Fade Street” on the RTE Player. There’s an outstanding character called Paul. He’s no Alf Stewart but he’s a helluva man all the same.

The Least Craic in Summer Bay

Oh look, Rachel won out as the least craic in Summer Bay, with just over 100 of the 373 votes we received! Understandable really, as she fell to whiny, moany pieces once she had a baby.
Annie took second place, followed by Jai, Bartlett and Charlie. I’m surprised Kirsty wasn’t further up the poll (no pun intended).
Miles only got 2% of the vote, confirming what I’ve always suspected – YOU LOVE HIM!

Lads, ye should do this quiz. It’s deadly. This is my result; I didn’t know Melody was a victim of voodoo!

“Melody from my perspective is a little weird!!! she just cant get over her ex boyfriend Geoff (who is to good for her anyway) being with someone else!! her hair is long and straight and is an A student at school. She is currently single because she is too ugly to have a boyfriend. she left her family becaus they were doing some voodoo thing to her. also she has random mood swings.”

So, my answers show that I am too ugly to have a boyfriend. Bummer.

Finally, watch out, because “random mood swings” can land you in a mental institution.

Well, hallelujah, they’re changing the H&A theme song. The dude who sings it at the moment can’t enunciate his words properly, why, I can’t imagine how he got any kind of singing qualification at all.

In any case, here is the new version in all its tuneful glory.

Home & Away Scheduling June 2006

To whom it may concern,

I wish to complain about the scheduling of “Home and Away” during the World Cup
tournament. Understandably, due to evening matches, this programme is not being shown in
the regular slot of 6:30 on RTE2. However it is still being shown at 1:30 on RTE1, which
means that people who are unable to view it at this time will be weeks behind in their
viewing by the time the World Cup is over. Surely it would make more sense to postpone
broadcasting of this programme?

Dear Katherine,
Thank you for your e-mail.

We very much regret the disappointment caused to you by the dropping of the 6.30pm
repeat of Home and Away during week one of World Cup 2006 coverage on RTÉ Two.
RTÉ’s Head of Schedule Planning makes the following comment.

Unfortunately World Cup coverage causes major disruption to the RTÉ Two schedule.
Due to the large number of live matches it was simply not possible to schedule
Home and Away on RTÉ Two over a 6 day period from June 12th – 16th and
Monday 19 June. Home and Away will return to the teatime schedule on RTÉ Two
from Tuesday June 20.

We accept that this has inconvenienced viewers, however we have endeavoured
to keep disruption of the schedule to a minimum.

I would like to assure you that your complaint was included in our Audience Log,
and circulated for information to senior management in the programme division,
including the Head of Schedule Planning.
