Irene gets a storyline

October 17th, 2011 by Ailsa

In today’s episode, Marilyn talked Jessica the bride out of getting married. She robbed Leah of an order in the process. Jessica seemed fairly simple and downtrodden, so I’m surprised she took action.

It looks like Irene might have breast cancer. No-one has even noticed she’s out of sorts. Bianca broke up with Liam and is moping around. April’s too busy giving Bianca advice. Irene even had a slow-motion, soft-focus scene and still no-one copped on.

Roo called around to check on Sid. In return, he gave her a tongue-lashing over walking out on the Walkers. He’s a cheeky doctor.

I hadn’t a bog what was going on with Irene till the end of the ep – I was envisioning her back on the bottle or about to have Bobby-in-the-fridge or Alf-as-an-Aboriginal type hallucinations. Let’s hope the lump isn’t a bad one.

I want to get a T-shirt with Marilyn’s final piece of advice to the blushing bride emblazoned across it: ‘If he really loves you he will support your choices, ESPECIALLY your hair choices’
    Preach!

Poor Irene. It seems as though every storyline she has ends in disaster. And the last fellah she went out with was murdered by Hugo’s lot .
Maybe that’s why they dyed her hair black, to make her look more washed out. I’m not liking it.

I guess it has been a whole five minutes since someone had cancer. What happened with that buried waste that was giving them all cancer?? Rachael has fecked off & Belle died of it herself so am I the only one who remembers it?!

I sorely missed Brax in this episode *glum*

Don’t forget Martha had cancer as well but managed to recover and be well enough to go on the run with Hugo ( the People Smuggler whose own mother won’t even mention him now).

Poor Irene. She does her best for everyone else and now she gets sick. Ain’t fair.

If April’s neck lines plunge any lower someone is going to get an eye out.

I cannot believe that Irene’s children, Damien and Finlay, have not rushed to her side during this difficult time. I just hope she doesn’t go back on the grog.

Am I remembering correctly that Roo had breast cancer when she was living in New York and Alf and/or Martha and/or Duncan went to stay with her?
