Marilyn has returned to the bay after 10 years away in Blighty. But who is she and what makes her so popular in the Bay? Here is the lowdown for those fans who don’t remember her from the first time around.
- She ran a beauty parlour out the back of the old diner and gave facials to Madge Wilkins et al.
- Marilyn used to be Morag’s housekeeper. It provided some great comedy as they were the ultimate odd couple. It’ll be interesting to see how they get on the next time Morag turns up in the Bay.
- Marilyn went out with Lance Smart, Colleen’s son. Colleen seems to bear a grudge about their break up.
- Lance, Marilyn and Martin Dibble were in a band together that went national for a brief time. I can’t remember what they were called. Lance got jealous as the press insinuated that Marilyn was going out with Martin, not Lance. This caused the band to split up.
- Donald “Flathead” Fisher married Marilyn in an unlikely liaison. They had a baby called Byron but he sadly passed away. His poor parents were distraught and Marilyn got depressed and fled to London. Irene and Flathead went to look for her. Their method of searching involved touring the city on an open top bus. Preposterous as this may sound, they managed to find her.
It’s good to have her back and I’m sure she’ll provide us with much hilarity. She seems to have ditched her habit of wearing tiny backpacks as handbags.

Yippee, Marilyn is back and she brought a stray with her! It’s Justin Jeffries, Aden’s brother. I wonder if he’ll move into Nicole’s house?
Alf and Irene explained to some of the blow-ins who Marilyn is. Colleen is holding a grudge because Marilyn dumped Lancey – fair enough, he was an amazing catch.
Xavier wants to live with Martha. For some reason he seems to like slavery.

I am very excited about the return of Marilyn. She was in a promo for the next episode so she must be back soon. She’ll add a touch of glamour to the Bay and hopefully a bit of craic. Do yis reckon she’ll be a love interest for Mad Miles?

So, Gina got herself a new boyfriend in the shape of John Palmer. No sooner did he drop her home than they were at it. Poor Xavier saw the aftermath. That fella’s going to have a breakdown.
Annie and Romeo got the lead roles in Romeo and Juliet, but, “hilariously”, she’s playing the boy and he the girl. This’ll be gas.
Tony wants to start a boxing club at the school. Gina says no. I think Elijah should teach them all ninja.

The graffiti artist aka Rabbit aka Mad Miles is still at large, and the caravan park residents are threatening to take the law into their own hands. Personally, I’d like to see that. Colleen would look the part in camouflage gear and black face paint.
Not content with painting the Bay, Miles is causing more havoc by throwing Elijah and Leah together. He used the old invite-them-both-to-dinner-then-lock-them-in-a-caravan-but-pretend-it-was-your-imaginary-friend trick. What high jinx! I bet Elijah’s secret is that he’s never “taken it to the next level”. He’s in the right spot for that, so.
Liam Murphy is sporting a very strange beard. It’s like he was run over by the world’s smallest lawnmower. Maybe it’s to complement his very strange housemate.
Charlie phoned Leah’s psychologist to make an appointment. Do you reckon in Australia, psychologists are called psychos?

Annie’s back from Japan with a “Ohayo gozaimasu” for Irene who’s missed her terribly. It’s been hard for Irene with Geoff gone and Annie away but now the younger Campbell is back, but for how long?
It seems her trip to the far east hasn’t lessened her feelings for Romeo, or vice versa. Sure didn’t he think about her every day? Now it’s up to him to persuade her to stay in town and not head back away again for another three months. How will he manage it? If I were him I’d ask her to join him in a prayer marathon that will last three months. There’s no way she could turn that down.

Gina fairly bulldozed through Mink’s tough defences when she called around for a chat. Gina’s been through the mill herself, you see, when her husband left her to raise her sons alone. And Gawd knows those three were a handful. So she knows a pretence when she sees one. Perhaps we should be calling her the new Pippa?

Miles has had enough. Enough of the tagging and chaos around the caravan park. So in a Popeyesque move, he proclaimed “I’ve had all I can stand and I can’t stand no more” and went on a stakeout to catch the criminal in the act.
Ably assisted by his assistant Aden, the two crime-fighters set off with torches and a hunger and thirst for what is right. Tagers beware – Miles is aware! But there was one problem with their stakeout, it’s much harder to catch imaginary people than real ones.
Rabbit led them on a merry dance and legged it when she saw Miles lumbering towards her. Knowing an opportunity for pratfalls and slapstick when he sees it, Miles fell over and twisted his ankle. Hilarity ensued and Aden didn’t manage to see Rabbit as she ran off. Funny that. Then she had the temerity to deny the incident when Miles brought it up with her the next day. If Miles thinks she’s a real person, why doesn’t he mention her to anyone? He had the perfect opportunity when talking to Aden about the stakeout. Is it time Miles was locked up for his own safety?
