Dag Dog

April 13th, 2007 by Mal

I always reckoned that Dag Dog would beat Bouncer in a fight. Dag Dog was Sally and the Fletchers’ dog in the early days. He would accompany Sally and Milco in their advantures. Oh the fun a young girl and her imaginary friend can get up to. Dag Dog watched Sally go on fishing trips with her pre-teen boyfriend Mullet. It got a bit racy when she gave him a peck on the cheek.

Despite his name, Dag Dog was a surprisingly trendy canine. Strays and pets from as far away as Mangrove River and Yabbi Creek would flock to the Bay to see the latest way he had his coat brushed. Or they might try to imitiate the jaunty angle of his collar. He was steps ahead of the other demode dawgs.

But the day came when a fashionable dash wasn’t enough and he shuffled off this mortal coil. Sally was distraught but she knew that he was off to a better place. Doggie heaven wouldn’t know itself once this poised pooch popped in.
