Home and Away Plot Template #1

1.  Kid arrives in Summer Bay

2.  Kid has no relatives who seem to give a damn
3.  Kid is in H&A for roughly one episode before s/he is taken under Irene/Sally's wing
4.  A dark secret from Kid's past is revealed
5.  Secret is revealed, drama ensues, Kid is integrated into Summer Bay society despite his/her past
 
By the way, if the Kid in question is a "crook kid" (see Stewart, Duncan), s/he will spend a few episodes being surly before the magical sea air turns him or her into an entirely pleasant young adult.

    With such an insightful grasp on the complicated plot machinations, I think you should write a spec storyline and send it into the production company.

    Remind me when did Duncan turn into a pleasant young adult? He’s always been surly, rude and obnoxious!
    We need more Hayleys, Pippas, Sallys, Flynns and Belles.
